Last week, our colleague James Longden had the privilege of attending the 6th European Biotransformation Workshop (1 September 2025, Churchill College, Cambridge, UK).— where leading voices in the field shared exciting advances in metabolism research and translational science. Special thanks to Markus Walles, Axel Pähler, Ph.D., ERT, Emre Isin, Marie Ahlqvist, and others at DMDG (www.dmdg.org) The workshop sparked rich discussions on Accelerator Mass Spectrometry, emerging models for assessing metabolites in humans, and innovative in vitro approaches to studying metabolism and toxicity. One key takeaway? A growing recognition that understanding metabolic pathways is central to developing safer, more effective therapeutics. At Evolvus Inc., this vision deeply resonates with us. Cristian-Catalin Pop from the research group of Andreas Bender will be presenting a poster on his work: "Guiding the denoising process of latent diffusion models through non-differentiable oracles." This research explores using latent diffusion models, guided by oracles trained on datasets including Evolvus' own Liceptor database, to generate high-scoring molecules.
