  • What once were simple pallets are now some of the newest additions to the Engelnest space ♻️ Together with OK Labs - Onaranlar Kulübü, we hosted an upcycling workshop where participants designed and built functional seating furniture from reclaimed materials; turning waste into something useful, collaborative, and long-lasting. More than just a workshop, it was a day full of creativity, exchange, teamwork, and hands-on learning. It was inspiring to see people from different backgrounds come together, share ideas, and create something tangible as a community. A big thank you to everyone who joined and contributed their energy, creativity, and craftsmanship. These pieces will now remain part of Engelnest as a reminder of what can happen when sustainability and community meet. Looking forward to many more collaborative projects like this. #Upcycling #CircularDesign #CommunityBuilding #CoworkingBerlin #Sustainability #BerlinEvents

  • Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Petra Bijvoet from Hashtag Junkies at Engelnest. It was a truly inspiring session on storytelling, brand authenticity, and how to find the narratives that genuinely resonate. A great experience for all of us, and we took away so many valuable insights from the session; especially on recognizing the stories that are already there and learning how to make them visible in a meaningful way. Thank you, Petra, for the inspiring conversation and for sharing your perspective with our team ✨

Every brand has stories to tell, but the real question is: which ones actually stick? 👉 Not just with your audience, but with your team. Because the strongest stories are rarely invented. They’re already there. Living in how you work, what you value, and what keeps showing up in conversations without being forced. But not everything that exists is worth amplifying. The skill is in noticing what resonates. A simple way to find that: 💭 What do you believe in so deeply it shows up in your work every day? 👀 What are the themes your team keeps returning to, without trying? 🤪 What could you talk about, build on, and explore for months without it running dry? Somewhere in those answers are the stories your brand can truly own. Stories that aren’t just told once, but carried by everyone! Because good content isn’t about saying more. It’s about recognizing what’s already true, and choosing to make that visible, consistently. Thank you for the invite and big thank you to the team of Engelnest Coworking! 🙏

  • Working from home sounds like a dream — at least at first. You make your coffee, sit down, and start your day. But between distractions, lack of structure, and quiet isolation, that “dream setup” doesn’t feel so ideal anymore. You’re not alone in this. The way we work has changed. More people are freelancing, building startups, or working remotely than ever before — but with that freedom comes the challenge of staying productive, inspired, and connected. This is where coworking spaces come in. They’re shared environments where people from different backgrounds, such as freelancers, entrepreneurs, creatives, students, work independently, but not alone. And it’s about much more than just a desk. It’s about community and a space that supports how you work best. At Engelnest, we didn’t just want to create another place to work. We wanted to build a space where people feel comfortable, focused, and genuinely inspired to show up. A calm, creative environment that feels like home. A community that balances focus and connection. The flexibility to work in your own rhythm. Whether you’re building something or just trying to get out of a productivity slump — you don’t have to do it alone. #coworking #freelancers #entrepreneurs #digitalnomads #berlinstartups

🎤🏙️ Proud to see our co-founder Ferhat Engel represent Engelnest at this inspiring symposium as a speaker. It was a valuable opportunity to share practical insights on how coworking spaces evolve from grassroots communities into urban infrastructure. At Engelnest, this question is part of our everyday practice! Many thanks to the organizers for the invitation and to all participants for the thoughtful exchange. #coworking

RGCS2026 – Part 2: Conversations on coworking and new ways of working After exploring Berlin together during the OWEE, the RGCS community gathered at TU Berlin for two days of lively discussions on coworking and new ways of working. Researchers from across disciplines shared their work on how collaborative spaces are reshaping work practices, organizations, and cities. The presentations touched on a variety of topics such as hybrid work, everyday organizing practices, the role of collaborative spaces in changing urban work landscapes, or coliving residencies and workation. One highlight of the symposium was the panel discussion “Beyond Community? Coworking Between Ideals, Infrastructures and Everyday Constraints.” The discussion brought together both researchers and practitioners to reflect on how coworking evolves from grassroots initiatives into an urban and economic infrastructure. Many thanks to the panelists: Katja Hellkoetter (C*SPACE Berlin), Christopher Weiß (BEYDES New Working Culture), Ferhat Engel (Engelnest Coworking), Katarzyna Wojnar (Delft University of Technology), and Gislene Haubrich (Stockholm School of Economics). Another highlight was the keynote by Karin Fast (Karlstad University) titled “Coworking Spaces as Elite Territory in the Post-Digital City.” Her talk challenged the common narrative that coworking mainly supports precarious freelance work and instead explored how coworking spaces may also function as elite environments that remain inaccessible to many people, opening an important discussion about inequality and access in contemporary workspaces. More generally, the event once again showed what makes the RGCS community special: an open dialogue between disciplines and a shared curiosity about collaborative spaces and new ways of working. A big thank you to the local organizing team — Janet Merkel (Technische Universität Berlin, Institute of Urban and Regional Planning – ISR) and Dr. Alexandra Bernhardt (ZeTT - Das Zukunftszentrum Thüringens, Friedrich Schiller University Jena) — for making the symposium possible. And of course, thanks to all presenters and participants who made the discussions so rich and inspiring.
