How fast can AI voice translation get? So fast you don’t even notice you’re waiting for it. As our Head of Voice Leonardo Doin explained to The Signal founder Alex Banks at DeepL Spring Launch, that’s what’s coming. DeepL Voice is already able to deliver speech-to-speech translation faster than other models, thanks to contextual understanding that knows the exact best moment to translate. That means not having to wait for a sentence to finish before you hear what's being said. Now, we’re working on models that can reduce latency within the voice-to-voice translation itself so that it happens even faster, and feels almost instantaneous. It will feel like science fiction, but it's the new reality of voice translation. Try DeepL voice for yourself: https://dee.pl/a2y31 #DeepLVoice #VoiceToVoice #SpeechTranslation

How can you show the difference that accurate, real-time voice translation makes, for anyone who’s interested? How can you make an advanced, integrated product accessible to anyone with a web browser or a mobile phone? The answers are in our new AI Labs feature with DeepL’s Software Engineer Santhos Ramalingam. Santhos was the chief creator of our DeepL Voice Demo. It’s a simple but powerful showcase of what makes our voice translation engine different. It’s also a great example of what’s possible when building with our new DeepL Voice API. And it’s helped to create a new playground for our engineers to experiment with DeepL Voice and illustrate new concepts and solutions for customers. Hear more from Santhos, and get the full story behind the Demo and DeepL Voice API in our AI Labs feature: https://lnkd.in/gnnE_3zb #AILabs #DeepLVoice #VoiceAPI

When Articulate integrated DeepL API, it transformed the experience of creating multilingual training courses. Customers reported translation timelines shrinking from three weeks to less than five minutes. And with translation embedded into the authoring workflow, producing content in multiple languages became as natural and intuitive as producing it in just one. This is Articulate’s Group Product Manager Simon Taghioff walking through the new, API-powered, course creation workflow. It’s part of a great webinar we recently recorded with Simon, DeepL’s Mike Hughes and Tim Römermann of Amazon Web Services (AWS). Want to turn localization into a growth engine for your platform or product? This is definitely worth watching: https://lnkd.in/epUG5iWE #DeepLAPI #TranslationAPI #GlobalGrowth #DeepLArticulate

AI training shouldn’t be limited by language. NVIDIA uses DeepL API as a high-quality translation layer to build multilingual training datasets and evaluate model performance across languages. And the models behind DeepL API are trained on DeepL's NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD with DGX GB200 systems, deployed at EcoDataCenter in Sweden: https://lnkd.in/e_ibvCun #NvidiaDeepL #NvidiaDGXSuperPOD #DeepLAPI

"Just delivering the best text translation doesn't really solve it." When it comes to voice translation, you don’t just need a model that’s accurate. You need a model that knows the exact, best moment to translate what you say, while you're saying it. This is our Head of Voice Leo Doin explaining to AI expert Alex Banks why DeepL Voice performs so strongly in blind tests on real-time translated captions. It all comes down to contextual understanding of language structure. When AI grasps the rhythm of how people speak, it can determine the best moment to translate, without waiting for the end of a sentence. And without having to go back to correct itself. That’s how we create text translations of multilingual meetings that balance accuracy and stability. It’s why DeepL Voice beats Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom on real-time voice translation. And it’s what gives people the confidence to participate fully in meetings, no matter which language they speak. We built an online demo so that you can try out DeepL Voice for yourself: https://dee.pl/a2y31 #DeepLVoice #VoiceTranslation

The Port of Vancouver is one of the world’s busiest, handling shipping from over 170 countries in a city where 50% of residents speak a first language other than English. Now it’s removing friction from global trade with instant translation of shipping documents, contracts and more from DeepL. Vancouver Fraser Port Authority

Today our CEO Jarek Kutylowski shared an important update about DeepL.
Since 2017, DeepL has been building AI that has fundamentally changed how we communicate, helping people and businesses around the world come together. Today we are turning that same spirit of innovation inward to build the DeepL of the future. We are completely reshaping how we operate, with AI at the center - not just in the products we create, but in how we work every day. This is a tremendous opportunity and I believe the right decision, at the right time. It will allow us to move much faster, invest more deeply in work that matters, and achieve things that we simply couldn’t before. But it also has meant making a difficult decision that is not easy to share, which is that we are reducing the size of the DeepL team. We shared this news to our employees today. I do not take lightly the impact of this, and have written a message for our team and those leaving on why this is happening and what this means for DeepL going forward. I hope you will read it.

Notion is the customizable, AI-connected workspace where knowledge work happens. Embedding DeepL within that workspace enables colleagues to collaborate across languages with confidence, expressing ideas in the language that works for them. As part of Spring Launch, Notion’s Head of International Experience Mercedes Krimme chatted with DeepL CMO Steve Rotter about the difference this makes to Notion’s community. As she explains, it’s helping to enable a new era of global participation. There are lots more insights from Mercedes in her full conversation with Steve.
