Exciting news: the entire first Namo Bharat corridor is now complete and operational! Congratulations to everyone involved in the realization of India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), connecting Delhi and Meerut. Special thanks to National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) for their trust and vision, and to our dedicated teams at DB International Operations and DB RRTS Operations India Private Limited for making this milestone possible. This project sets new standards for regional mobility, engineering, and multimodal integration.

First Namo Bharat corridor is now complete!  The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, inaugurated the final sections of the first Namo Bharat semi-high-speed line last weekend. This means the Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut Namo Bharat corridor is now fully operational, marking a new era for semi-high-speed regional mobility in India. As part of the DB E.C.O. Group family, we are proud that our colleagues of DB RRTS Operations India Private Limited are operating this first-of-its-kind system. The project stands out not only as India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) but also as a showcase of cutting-edge engineering and seamless systems integration. At its Delhi origin, the new Sarai Kale Khan station sets a benchmark for multimodal connectivity, linking Indian Railways, Delhi Metro, Inter-State Bus Terminal, and the city’s road network in one expansive hub designed to handle large passenger volumes.  Further along the corridor, the final stations at Shatabdi Nagar, Begumpul, and Modipuram are now operational, with Begumpul ranking among the largest underground stations on the line. Beyond this, the system also pioneers the integration of Meerut Metro services on the same infrastructure as Namo Bharat trains – the first time in India that regional rapid rail and metro services share tracks.  Adding to these achievements is the deployment of ETCS Level 3 Hybrid signalling over LTE, a global first, which enables trains to operate safely at speeds of up to 160 km/h and cover the 82 km between Delhi and Meerut in under an hour.  We would like to express our sincere gratitude to National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) for their visionary leadership, trust, and strong partnership throughout the realization of this transformative project. Many thanks to our colleagues at DB International Operations and DB RRTS for the complete commissioning and the great team effort. A landmark milestone for sustainable mobility in Egypt. At the TransMEA exhibition in Cairo, we officially signed the Operations and Maintenance contract for Egypt’s first high-speed rail network together with our trusted partner ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC and the National Authority for Tunnels (NAT). Operating under the newly established joint venture DB–ELSEWEDY Rail Operation S.A.E., we will manage the full spectrum of operations and maintenance for one of the most ambitious rail systems in Africa and the Middle East - the “Suez Canal on Rails.” Spanning approximately 2,000 kilometers and more than 60 stations, the network will connect the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea, reducing travel times by half and enabling up to one million passengers and 8,500 tons of goods to travel faster, safer, and more sustainably every day. This partnership combines our global operational expertise with ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC’s regional excellence - setting new benchmarks in reliability, efficiency, and digital innovation while supporting Egypt’s Vision 2030 for a connected, green future. We are proud to work hand in hand with NAT and ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC to deliver a modern, high-performance, locally embedded rail service that will transform passenger and freight mobility across Egypt.  Together, we are shaping the future of sustainable transport.
