Meet Tomáš, our Assistant Store Manager, who also works in the Visual Merchandising team for our menswear department at our store in Bratislava, Slovakia! Alongside his regular responsibilities, he ensures that all guidelines are followed and that the department always looks fresh, inspiring, and commercially strong. 💬 "Spending so much time on the sales floor helps me understand what our customers are looking for and present products in the best possible way,” Tomáš shares. For him, the impact of strong VM is clearest when customers react directly to his work. 💬 “When customers compliment the store, try things on, and make purchases — that’s when I see the real impact of what I do,” Tomáš adds with a smile. To implement ideas quickly, he stays constantly up to date and thinks ahead, often even outside of work, which helps him make fast, confident decisions every day. What does a Store Day at C&A look like? 👀 A Store Day gives colleagues from our headquarters the opportunity to spend a day in one of our stores – rolling up their sleeves, supporting store teams and gaining real, hands-on insights into everyday store life. Our co-worker Anna Wollny, from Sales & Retail Learning, recently took part in a Store Day at C&A Bochum Ruhrpark. Store Days are designed to support and relieve our store teams while giving participants a deeper understanding of processes, customer needs and daily routines on the shop floor, including experiencing sales first-hand. During her last Store Day, Anna supported the children’s department, helping with refurbishment tasks and interacting directly with customers, among other things. She has already taken part several times and highly recommends it to every colleague. Tasks vary widely and always depend on where support is most needed at the time. 💬 “As someone from the Learning Team, the most valuable part of a Store Day is the direct exchange with our store teams. Experiencing first-hand what colleagues on the shop floor need, the challenges they face and where support really makes a difference helps ensure that our learning and training materials truly reflect everyday store life. That’s where meaningful, practical support starts,” Anna shares. The team handles a wide range of requests every day. Finding solutions together, supporting one another, and having fun along the way — that’s what makes the difference. 💬 “One highlight of the role is the TechBar in Düsseldorf. The direct contact with users, meeting so many different people, helping them solve their issues, and seeing the relief (and smiles) when everything works again makes the work incredibly rewarding,” he adds.
