It’s out! Our custom bEpic GmbH Image Viewer for ComfyUI is now available. Built to bring the kind of review experience artists know from tools like RV or Nuke into the generative workflow. Developed and designed by our VFX Supervisor Sebastian Zilius, this viewer turns ComfyUI into a much more structured and production-ready environment. What it does: • Dedicated viewer panel for images, masks and outputs • Frame-accurate playback with timeline scrubbing • Flexible frame range selection for faster iteration and testing • Undockable window for dual-screen setups • Review multiple sequences in a single tool • Compare outputs with A/B, side-by-side and wipe modes • Built-in version tracking across generations • Import and review reference folders directly from disk In short: A way to review generative work with the same level of control you expect from a professional pipeline. A CG Mars rover, a Martian canyon and a sandstorm that definitely had opinions of its own. For this project we built a fully functional CG rover based on an on-set prop, placed it together with two astronauts inside a procedurally generated Martian canyon, and unleashed a rather unfriendly sandstorm simulated in Houdini. Think Mad Max.... Just a little further from home and with less chrome. The storm system, the canyon environment and the rover all had to interact believably, which turned this into one of those projects where simulation, environment work and a lot of dust had to come together just right. And yes… our astronauts did get into a bit of trouble along the way. Luckily we had a rescue capsule ready, complete with smoke and fire FX. One of those projects where the studio floor slowly turns into Mars… and sometimes Mars only exists inside the render farm. A huge thank you to Dorian&Daniel, Zauberberg Productions GmbH, Maison ACME and HUK-COBURG for sending us on this mission.
