Good design will always shine through! 💫🍀 The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale has just been recognised at the prestigious Compasso d’Oro by an international jury with an Honourable Mention in the “Design for Mobility” category. Established in 1954, this design competition - the oldest in Italy and one of the most prestigious in the world in the field of industrial design - previously awarded the top prize to the Alfa Romeo Giulia in 2018 and the Alfa Romeo Brera in 2004, while the Alfa Romeo Giulietta also received an Honourable Mention in 2014. We caught up with Totem Automobili founder Riccardo Quaggio at this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, where the boutique Italian constructor presented the GT Super SP in the Concepts & Prototypes class - and, despite not taking home the big trophy, for us at Alfattitude it still represented the Alfa-related highlight of an otherwise rather thin edition for the Biscioni nation… Riccardo was in good spirits once the winner was announced: “Sunday at Villa Erba was an incredibly positive experience,” Riccardo told us. “So many people came to see the car - and what surprised me most was the female audience. Many women came up and told us: “This is the most beautiful car in the world”- and honestly, I didn’t expect that.” And we are we to disagree with the ladies of Como? In a very gentleman like manner Riccardo also admitted that the debut of the Kimera K39 the previous day inevitably stole part of the spotlight, but he was still satisfied to see he GT Super SP among the event’s most appreciated cars: “The success they had with the K39 made much more of a media splash, and I kind of expected that. But right after Kimera I think we were the ones most appreciated generally speaking, and that was enough for me.” More importantly, the Villa d’Este appearance marked something of a closing chapter for the GT series. With three distinct interpretations now completed - the GT Electric, the road-focused GT Super and this track-oriented GT Super SP - the Treviso-based company has now a lineup that covers all facets of this project: “Having three different variants now completes the range” he said. “You can see every dimension of what a Totem car can be. And that was the point of bringing it here - to show this ultimate version.” And to wrap it up in style, Riccardo let something else slip: “See you at Pebble Beach with a very important novelty. The preparation campaign for the 2027 America’s Cup - set to be hosted in Italy for the first time in the history of the world’s oldest sailing competition - has got off to a strong start for Luna Rossa at Regata Sardinia in Cagliari, where the Italian team won both the main regatta and the competitions reserved for the youth and women’s crews. 🇮🇹⛵️ For the occasion, Alfa Romeo, as sponsor of Luna Rossa, organised a hospitality area on the docks in Cagliari where the entire range was on display, while guests and friends of the Biscione could board a catamaran shuttle and head out to sea for a closer look at the sailors of Luna Rossa in action. The “Road To Napoli 2027” continues - watch out for the maritime Biscione (and the accompanying motorhome) in a port near you. 😎

Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa has presented today during the Investor Day the company’s new ambitious industrial plan: 60 billion in play with the aim of bringing Stellantis back to profitability, with no less than 60 new models to be launched until 2030 across all brands. The focus will be however put on 4 main brands - Jeep, Ram, Peugeot, Fiat - with Opel, Citroen and Alfa taking on a more regional focus. Specifically for the plans regarding the Biscione - the brand will remain in the D segment with the current Giulia & Stelvio until the end of 2027, with two other new models confirmed today: another speciality (the likes of the new 33 Stradale) and by surprise, a compact car, shown in the official presentation as an SUV but rendered more like a regular hatchback (probably it will be a halfway model, the likes of the Cupra Formentor). Another big announcement coming in today is that Stellantis will also launch a multi-energy modular platform called STLA One, covering segments from B to D. So we might just suspect the future Giulia & Stelvio will also be built on it. But as the official slide says… “The Future of Alfa Romeo… More to Come.”

Fresh from a high-speed testing session at the Balocco Proving Grounds: the new Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa! Developed through Alfa Romeo’s new Bottega Fuoriserie programme, this already sold-out collector’s edition is be the most aerodynamically efficient Quadrifoglio ever created. Its dedicated carbon fibre aero package - from the front appendages and underbody profiles to the spectacular foil-inspired rear wing - generates up to 140 kg of downforce at 300 km/h, with aerodynamic load up to five times greater than on the standard production car. Inspired by the AC75 Luna Rossa that competed in the 2024 America’s Cup in Barcelona, the Giulia features a dedicated bicolore livery, exposed carbon details and, for the first time in modern Alfa Romeo history, red Alfa Romeo emblems. At the heart of the 2025 FuoriConcorso #Velocissimo show stood Casa Alfa Romeo. Hosting the worldwide launch of the new 33 Stradale book, a collection of previously unseen photographs and detailed accounts of the supercar’s development. It tells the story of this modern coachbuilt masterpiece, a tribute to the 1967 original, produced in a strictly limited series of just 33 already-sold units. The car itself stood nearby with its back against the lake, flanked by a carefully curated lineup highlighting Alfa Romeo’s most significant moments in racing history: the elegant Giulia TZ and TZ2, and the 33TT12 race car, whose 1975 triumph in the World Champion of Sports Cars brought a bright spark in an otherwise mostly bleak decade for the brand. Such a display is rare at an outdoor event, as these historic machines are usually preserved within the confines of the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo in Arese, where they are carefully preserved for their remarkable heritage. For an occasion of this magnitude, the presence of Arturo Merzario was inevitable. The first Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale has been delivered to America! 🇺🇸🍀 Texan entrepreneur Glynn Bloomquist just got the keys to one of the 33 bespoke creations from Bottega Fuoriserie - sporting the n. 14 as a homage to Enzo Ferrari’s racing number in his early days, a leather interior reminiscent of the world of furniture and a white front end, just like the epic Biscioni reigning across circuits in ‘60s. This example is painted in Rosso Villa d’Este and has the 20 inch Progressive wheels with carbon fiber inserts. How do you like it?
