The Congressional Medal of Honor Society's

2026 Annual Convention - in Detroit!

The greatest commendation our nation can confer is the Medal of Honor. The Medal of Honor is reserved for those who have distinguished themselves "conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty."

THIS IS HISTORIC! The City of Detroit has been named a Host City for the Congressional Medal of Honor Celebration in the fall of 2026. The annual convention Sept. 29 to Oct. 3, 2026 will bring the largest gathering of America’s 60 living Medal of Honor recipients together for a series of public and private events that will be topped off by a black-tie and highly anticipated Patriots Award Gala being held at Huntington Place.

On March 13th, we will look at the history and legacy of the medal, the recipients, and hear about the upcoming Fall 2026 event. Again – you get the early, behind-the-scenes look at this Michigan celebration of our nation’s greatest heroes.

2026 is the first time ever that the MoH Convention will be held in Michigan

There have been 433 MoH recipients dating back to the Civil War. The first was presented in March of 1863

Michigan's own and beloved Jim "Doc" McCloughan received his MoH on 31 July 2017
