    Tencent has introduced three new initiatives to make digital payments easier for international visitors in China ahead of APEC 2026: a collaboration between TenPay Global and PayPal World that enables PayPal users to pay by scanning Weixin Pay QR codes at merchants across China, a 90-day fee waiver for first-time international card users on Weixin/WeChat, and in-app payment guidance in 16 languages across Shenzhen’s airports, ports of entry and major commercial districts. With Weixin Pay now connected to more than 36 overseas wallet institutions, international visitors can increasingly pay with the wallets they already use at home when they travel in China.     Urban ecosystems help cities breathe. They purify air, regulate temperature, and support life, yet much of this activity goes unseen.   Tencent developed an ecological mapping approach to make these hidden systems visible. By gathering observations from parks, gardens, and neighbourhoods, and combining them into a shared digital map, a clearer picture of urban life begins to emerge.   With public participation, the map continues to grow, revealing where habitats connect, where they have fragmented, and where stronger links are needed.     Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day, a moment to consider who technology is designed for and who it still leaves out. Nearly 285 million people worldwide are blind or low vision.     AI continued to shape Tencent’s business and ecosystem in Q1 2026, from improving operational efficiency and monetization to enabling new experiences across video gaming, advertising, cloud, and productivity tools. This quarter marked important early momentum for our new AI products. Hy3 preview, our latest large language model, has become the most-used model on OpenRouter by token usage since April 28, while WorkBuddy is now among the leading productivity AI agents in China. At the same time, our core businesses continued to show resilience and growth. Several evergreen games achieved lifetime highs, while AI-powered recommendation and advertising technologies further strengthened engagement and marketing services performance across the Weixin/WeChat ecosystem.
