🌆 Building Cities with Timber: Evolution and Challenges of Mid- and High-Rise Buildings CENAMAD presented a study analyzing the evolution of research on mid- and high-rise timber buildings, highlighting how the sector has moved from validating basic structural performance to addressing the challenges inherent in increasingly taller and more complex structures. The analysis underscores how sustainability has become a cross-cutting pillar of development, while engineering is expanding its focus toward variables such as wind, robustness, and reliability, also integrating hybrid solutions and key social factors for consolidation at the urban scale. This work reaffirms the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to fostering more sustainable, resilient, and innovative cities through timber construction.
