This Sunday, March 8, we recognize International Women’s Day under the theme #GiveToGain. For me, this day is not only about advancing women — it is about reinforcing our commitment to gender equality and building workplaces where everyone has the opportunity to grow, contribute, and lead. In pharmaceutical manufacturing, performance depends on diverse perspectives, mutual respect, and equal access to opportunities. When people are evaluated by their talent, dedication, and results — not by their gender — teams become stronger and more innovative. In my role as Site Head at Siegfried Barberà, I contribute by fostering a culture where development opportunities, training, and leadership pathways are accessible to all. I am committed to promoting fairness in decision-making, encouraging open dialogue, and ensuring that every member of the organization feels empowered to reach their full potential. Because when we lift others, we all rise. #GiveToGain #IWD2026

This International Women’s Day and the theme #GiveToGain feel deeply personal to me. Some years ago, I received an offer many professionals dream of - moving countries to take on a global leadership role. A huge step forward. A few days later, I learned I was pregnant. My joy quickly mixed with fear. I remember thinking, this is it… I have to choose. Because surely you cannot have both. But instead of silently stepping back, I decided to ask. And something powerful happened - people supported me. Leaders trusted me with the opportunity, and my husband stood by my side as an incredible partner, making it possible every day after that. That experience changed me. Today, when I meet talented women questioning whether they are ready or whether they deserve it, I tell them: you are enough. Ask. Try. Step forward. Support exists more often than we think — and when it doesn’t, we can build it for others. I also remind myself and others that our families and loved ones are not secondary to our careers. They are our foundation - the "glass ball" we must protect while we keep all the other balls in the air. Giving support, sharing experience, lifting someone when they doubt themselves - this is how we create space for others to succeed too. And just like parenthood, the rewards of helping others grow are often greater than anything we expected. Because when we lift others, we all rise.
