📄 Working with IUCN and Arup we’ve created a roadmap to help cities across the world protect biodiversity and accelerate regenerative urban development through circularity. 💡IUCN’s new report “Circular Construction Policies for Nature” explores several Holcim projects that show how cities are leading the future of sustainable construction – using our sustainable, circular building materials and solutions. ♻️ London was one of the first cities to require circular economy commitments at the planning submission stage for projects. Wood Wharf is a mixed-use development that uses Holcim’s ECOPact concrete with our ECOCycle technology inside – namely recycled concrete aggregates inside, sourced from local construction demolition materials. ♻️ Setting the pace for advanced building norms, Zurich municipality mandates 25% recycled content in the construction of all public buildings. For the “David Chipperfield” extension of Kunsthaus Zürich built from 2016-18, Holcim supplied 5 000 tons of low-carbon cement for concrete with up to 95% recycled aggregates. ♻️Paris is actively building circular economy principles into its public procurement and urban planning regulations. Recygénie is the world’s first fully recycled concrete building made using Holcim’s ECOCycle circular technology, saving 6 000 tons of primary raw materials. 🔗Read the full report: https://lnkd.in/eqvpcNs6 #NextGenGrowth #BuildingProgress #CircularConstruction
