The support for this initiative was incredible, with teams bringing thoughtful ideas, strong collaboration and a commitment to advancing responsible AI for youth mental health. Discover the winners of the Hackathon: Building Safer AI for Youth Mental Health! Last week, Mila and co-organizers Bell Business, BUZZ HPC, and Kids Help Phone issued a challenge: build safer AI for youth mental health. Over 300 people from across Canada answered the call. Over seven days, participants pushed the boundaries of AI safety in conversational systems, from adversarial testing to logic hardening and synthetic data augmentation. Today, Mila is proud to announce the winning teams of this groundbreaking challenge, each earning a share of $10,000 in monetary prizes. Découvrez les gagnant·e·s du Hackathon : créer une IA plus sécuritaire pour la santé mentale des jeunes ! La semaine dernière, Mila et ses co-organisateurs Bell Business, BUZZ HPC et Jeunesse, J'écoute ont lancé un défi, celui de construire une IA plus sécuritaire pour la santé mentale des jeunes. Plus de 300 personnes de partout au Canada ont répondu à l'appel. Pendant sept jours, les participant·e·s ont repoussé les limites de la sécurité de l’IA dans les systèmes conversationnels, allant des tests adversariaux au renforcement logique en passant par l'augmentation de données synthétiques. Aujourd’hui, Mila est fier d’annoncer les équipes gagnantes de ce défi marquant, chacune recevant une part des 10 000 $ en prix en argent. A reminder that strong business relationships don’t end at 5 p.m., and that #ConnectionIsEverything when it comes to building them. En fin de compte, le véritable indicateur de performance était : « Est‑ce que tout le monde s’est bien amusé ? » ✅⚽ Rien de mieux qu’un petit match de soccer amical avec Desjardins pour créer des liens au-delà de notre quotidien ! Un bon rappel que les relations d’affaires solides ne s’arrêtent pas à 17 h, et que #ToutPartDuneConnexion quand vient le temps de les cultiver. Nous sommes heureux de confirmer qu’après s’être affrontés sur le terrain… tout le monde est toujours en très bons termes ! On se refait ça bientôt ? 👀
