Today is Personal Support Worker (PSW) Day – a time to recognize the incredible contributions PSWs make across UHN and the broader healthcare system. PSWs provide compassionate, hands-on support to patients, assisting with daily activities while closely monitoring their well-being. At UHN, they are essential members of the care team, working alongside nurses to address complex needs and ensure patient safety. "Being a PSW is a commitment to supporting patients and their families with compassion and resilience. I feel fulfilled by helping patients and being there for them in even the smallest ways." - Nerlie, Personal Support Worker in the Medical Radiation Unit at UHN’s Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Thank you to all PSWs for making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families every day.
