When tragedy struck a member of the Wingham community, the team at Wingham Pharmasave stepped in to help. Following a devastating incident that left local student Jayden hospitalized at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto after suffering severe burns, the Wingham Pharmasave team created an initiative to support both Jayden and his family, as well as local families in need through Food Share. Inspired by the store’s “Christmas Bag” initiative, Wingham Pharmasave owner Michael Kaladas and team, organized care bags filled with essential household and hygiene items. In total, 48 bags were donated to Food Share, and $480 was raised for Jayden and his family.

CBC recently shared a story that is a powerful reminder of what care looks like. A pharmacy graduation ring belonging to Pharmasave owner and pharmacist Brad Buckle was lost for nearly 20 years before a kind stranger tracked down its owner and returned it. Pharmasave Pharmacists spend their careers caring for others, a full circle moment, where a stranger took the time to care for a pharmacist in return. A simple act of kindness that made a lasting impact. Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/gfRQBw_C

Celebrating Pharmasave Excellence at the 2026 BCPhA Conference This year’s BCPhA Pharmacy Excellence Awards continue to highlight pharmacists who are making a lasting impact through leadership, mentorship, and exceptional patient care. We’re proud to recognize three outstanding Pharmasave award recipients. Bernice Lam - Murray Dykeman Mentorship Award Bernice Lam is an extraordinary mentor whose influence spans generations of pharmacy professionals. From UBC pharmacy students and early‑career pharmacists to high school students exploring the profession, Bernice is known for fostering confidence, compassion, and a lifelong commitment to pharmacy. Her pharmacy is consistently described as one of the best places to work or train, with many mentees crediting her for reigniting their passion for the profession. Beyond Canada, Bernice also volunteers on medical missions to Vietnam, delivering care and supplies to remote communities, reflecting a legacy of service, humility, and leadership. Kerri Moskal - Excellence in Patient Care Award Based in Cumberland, Kerri Moskal is a Certified C4 Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) Specialist whose work has transformed menopause and perimenopause care on Vancouver Island. As demand for her expertise grew, Kerri expanded her practice from one‑on‑one consultations to hosting after‑hours group education sessions at Cumberland Pharmasave. Through evidence‑based education and compassionate care, she empowers women to better understand their health, advocate with confidence, and regain quality of life. Thao Dao - New Practitioner Award An exceptional new practitioner, Thao Dao is already making a meaningful impact beyond the dispensary. Through a partnership with Pharmasave and St. Paul’s Hospital, she serves as the pharmacist for the Road to Recovery Transitional Care Unit, supporting patients as they transition from hospital care back into the community. Her culturally sensitive, trauma‑informed approach, shaped by her work in rural and Indigenous communities, including Manitoulin Island, highlights her commitment to equity, collaboration, and the future of pharmacy practice. Congratulations to Bernice, Kerri, and Thao on these well‑deserved recognitions. Your dedication, compassion, and leadership continue to elevate our profession and the care we provide to our communities. #PharmasaveProud #BCPhA2026 #PharmacyExcellence #PatientCare #Mentorship #FutureOfPharmacy

Each year, the Pharmasave Conference & Trade Show brings our pharmacy owners together from across the country to connect, exchange ideas, and build lasting relationships. It is a key part of how we foster collaboration within our network and ensure our owners feel supported, informed, and connected to one another. After several days of learning, networking, and meaningful conversations, we closed the conference with a gala dinner to celebrate an important milestone, 45 years of supporting independent pharmacy owners. The evening reflected the spirit of our community, as team members and owners came together to celebrate, connect, and enjoy the moment. At Pharmasave, creating opportunities like this is part of our commitment to our owners. We work hard, we celebrate together, and we make it a priority to recognize and support the people behind each independent business. For those exploring what it means to be part of the Pharmasave network, this is just one example of how we bring owners together and invest in their success. The trade show floor at the 2026 Pharmasave Conference & Trade Show was a true reflection of what it means to be Better Together. With more than 160 exhibitor and partner booths, owners and team members had the opportunity to connect directly with partners, explore the latest Pharmasave programs, and discover new products, services, and solutions designed to support both patient care and business growth. We were also pleased to welcome partners like AIR MILES Reward Program, who were onsite sharing more about the transition to Blue Rewards, a key step in strengthening customer engagement and loyalty for Pharmasave stores across Canada. By bringing together our partners, programs, and people in one space, the trade show floor showcased how better care and better business happen when we work better together.
