  • As the artificial-intelligence revolution shifts from model training to agentic applications that can infer what users need and automatically perform those tasks, the action is broadening beyond leading-edge chips to less-glamorous and investment-starved parts of the IT stack, pushing prices higher for legacy hardware components. For more details on why we believe this trend represents a longer-term, structural reset, read the latest thoughts from Y T Boon, Neuberger’s Head of Thematic—Asia ⤵️

  • Not all catastrophe bond triggers are created equal, and two decades of data make a compelling case for why the distinction matters. A new piece from our team, featured on Artemis, examines how different cat bond trigger types have performed relative to modeled loss expectations over the past 24 years, including mark-to-market behavior following hurricanes Irma and Ian. The analysis finds that industry index bonds, particularly those with peak peril region exposure, have generally outperformed the broader market with respect to these measures. That said, the broader takeaway is one of nuance rather than a simple ranking of trigger types. Modeled expectations and realized outcomes can diverge in ways that are not always immediately apparent, and understanding those differences is essential to sound portfolio construction and risk assessment. The findings reinforce the need for diligence when comparing risk across trigger types. Read the full article here: http://spklr.io/6044EyWeC View disclaimers: http://spklr.io/6045EyWeh

Where do we see pressures building beneath the surface in credit markets? Ashok Bhatia, Neuberger's Chief Investment Officer and Global Head of Fixed Income, spoke on the #DisruptiveForces podcast with host Anu Rajakumar about what's really going on in credit markets — from BDC stress and AI-driven software disruption, to the macro implications of the Iran conflict for oil markets, and the under-the-radar labor market risks that he believes could unlock additional Fed cuts. • This year's With Intelligence Women's Private Equity Summit brought together fresh perspectives and candid dialogue. Neuberger was proud to sponsor the event and to see several of our colleagues take the stage across panels throughout the summit, speaking on topics ranging from GP-LP relations, 401(k) plan access to private assets, and the growing use of secondary transactions in portfolio management. To everyone who joined us, shared a panel or stopped to say hello — thank you! The conversations we had here are the ones worth carrying forward.

  • Earlier this month, more than 100 Neuberger colleagues participated in Cycle for Survival New York, and what they accomplished for rare cancer research was truly something to celebrate. The team raised over $270,000 for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, surpassing their fundraising goal. Combined with the efforts of colleagues who participated in Cycle for Survival Chicago, Neuberger raised nearly $300,000 in total — with 100% of those funds going directly to life-saving research. What made the day especially meaningful were the personal moments woven throughout it. Corey Issing, Co-General Counsel Asset Management, and Richard Lipman, Client Advisor, took the stage to share their personal stories about their connections to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, reminding everyone in the room exactly why they were there. And Maura Elizabeth Reilly Kennedy, Managing Director, Private Markets, took things to another level entirely, completing the "Extreme Ride" by cycling for all four hours of the event. Numbers tell part of the story. But the energy, commitment and camaraderie that this team brought to their ride tell the rest.

In private markets, who you invest with matters almost as much as what you invest in. That’s especially true now, with dispersion across private markets managers increasing sharply, and some managers seeing rising pressure from defaults and redemptions. So how do you choose the right manager? In the latest episode of So What?, watch as Shannon L. Saccocia, CFA, CIO—Wealth, takes a step back to talk through the big picture issues when it comes to manager selection, including key factors to watch like deal flow access, underwriting quality, portfolio construction, and how the best managers communicate with clients when conditions get difficult.
