  • In case you forgot... This one's for the business owners just trying to get through it right now. Tax season is in full swing, the economic climate is heavy, and a lot of us are carrying just a little more than we let on. So here's your reminder: Slow months don't mean you're failing. You don't have to earn rest. One good client can change everything. You've survived every hard season so far. The fact that you're still showing up? It matters. We're rooting for every single one of you. 🖤

  • Spring is officially here, and she didn't come to play. We've been thinking a lot about what's worth carrying into this season and what's just... dead weight. Swipe through our in & out list and tell us: How many of these landed for you? Bonus points if "I'll fix the website later" made you wince a little. 👀 What would you add to the list? Drop it in the comments. We'd love to see what you're leaving behind this spring. (And if a brand or website refresh is on your spring list, you know where to find us — lumecreative.co)

  • The smallest design details are often the ones that make a brand truly memorable. When we work with businesses, one of our favourite things to add is custom illustrations, doodles and icons drawn from the real things that make a brand theirs. Not stock. Not generic. Actually personal. For photographer Megan Farraway, that meant a full custom set built around the things she loves and the things her clients already associate with her. The beach, travel, photography, ice cream, her love of reading, bows, a little whimsy. All of it translated into brand assets she can use across her website, social media, marketing materials, and more. It's a small addition. But it builds recognition, adds personality, and tells a story every time someone lands on her page. Custom illustrations aren't just a nice-to-have. They're a really smart brand investment, especially for businesses who want their brand to feel as intentional as the work they do. We wrote a whole blog on it, including three very different examples of how this works in practice. Check it out here : https://lnkd.in/ejFTDjqQ

  • Behind every "overnight success" is a woman (or two) who ignored the doubt and just kept going. Happy International Women’s Day to all the founders, creators, and boundary-pushers in our community. We know the hustle is real. We also know how much caffeine it takes to fit a 28 hour to-do list into a 24 hour day. But today isn’t just about celebrating how far we’ve come. It’s about cheering on the woman next to you who is currently building her empire from her kitchen table. Whether you’re in your "launch" era or your "scaling" era, we are forever rooting for you. Keep taking up space. You look great doing it. 🤍 #IWD2026

Spent today in a room full of women sharing stories about wellness, leadership, and building purpose-driven impact in our communities. This was the first event I've attended hosted by Community Futures Middlesex - The Business Help Centre and it left me with so many meaningful takeaways. Four women shared their journeys, about leadership, wellness, change, and success. What struck me most was how human their journeys were. Not linear. Not polished. But deeply real. Here's what stuck with me: Leigh Shand reminded us that taking care of ourselves isn’t selfish, it’s essential. Sleep, stress management, and simply being present shape how we show up. For ourselves, for our people, in our lives and our work. Jodi Pendry shared how powerful it can be when we truly listen and care for the people around us. Our clients, our teams, our communities... Sometimes the impact we have on someone’s life is far bigger than we realize. Janelle Coultes, BSc/C.Ped(C) spoke about pivoting careers and leaning into change in the pursuit of happiness and wellness. Success isn’t one fixed destination, and everyone’s version of it looks different. And keynote speaker Michelle Cederberg, CSP offered a perspective that really stayed with me: success isn’t a straight path. It’s forward motion… interrupted by reality. There will always be twists, setbacks, distractions, and moments of doubt. But there are also beautiful views along the way if we remember to look for them. One question she asked keeps echoing in my mind: What does success actually look like for you? Not the version we’re told to chase. Not the highlight reel we see online. But the one that genuinely feels like enough. For me, it looks like building something meaningful alongside people I care about, creating experiences that help others feel seen and supported, and moving through business and life with intention. With International Women’s Day around the corner, I’m especially grateful for spaces that bring women together to share stories, lift each other up, and remind us of what’s possible. And grateful, as always, to share afternoons like this with my Lume Creative business partner Kerri Tomljenovic 🤍 #GivetoGain #IWD26 #WomeninBusiness #InternationalWomensDay #WomenSupportingWomen

  • When most people think about a great website, they focus on the visuals, colours, typography, images, layout. And yes, all of that matters. But behind every high-performing site is something less visible that can make an even bigger impact: the technical details. Website speed, mobile performance, clean code, and SEO aren’t just “tech stuff.” They shape how people experience your brand, how trustworthy you feel, and whether potential clients stick around or leave. Even a beautiful website can struggle if the foundation isn’t strong. Small details like broken links, confusing navigation, or slow loading images might seem minor, but they quietly affect every interaction someone has with your business. When everything works smoothly behind the scenes, visitors can focus on what really matters: learning about you and your services. At Lume, we know that design alone isn’t enough. Strategy and technical expertise need to work hand in hand. That’s why we build websites that look polished, function flawlessly, and grow with your brand. Curious about how technical details can take your website from “fine” to “flawless”? Read the full blog → https://lnkd.in/evxNFnrf

Launching a business comes with a lot to figure out, and branding is often the trickiest part. Do you go fully custom or start with a semi custom brand kit? Both have a purpose. Both can look polished and professional. And both are built by designers who actually know what they’re doing. Swipe through to see why semi custom brand kits are often the smartest option for new businesses, and how custom branding takes things a step further when you’re ready. • Your business has grown. Your website should keep up. If your offers have evolved but your messaging hasn’t, if you hesitate to send people to your site, or if it feels outdated and cluttered, your website might not be working as hard as you are. A thoughtful brand and website refresh can make all the difference. Curious what that could look like? • Watching Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show through a designer’s lens is fascinating. Every prop, costume, and colour choice was intentional, guiding the eye, creating hierarchy, and telling a story without words. From Lady Gaga’s light blue dress echoing the Puerto Rican flag to the warm yellows, soft pinks, and rich burgundy of the set, there’s a lot to unpack for digital and web designers. The show is a masterclass in visual flow, contrast, and cohesion, principles we apply every day in branding and web design. Curious what we learned about colour, composition, and storytelling from the performance? Check out the full breakdown in our latest blog. https://lnkd.in/gv5ijS_A
