Twenty women. Five days. Real deals.
The Canadian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (CVCA) wrapped the inaugural Deal Architect program — a five-day, simulation-driven experience designed for women in venture capital, private equity, and deal-driven roles.
Across three virtual sessions and two in-person days in Toronto, this curated cohort from across Canada stepped into high-pressure, real-world deal scenarios spanning the full investment lifecycle — from early-stage decisions to boardroom dynamics and critical inflection points. The focus wasn’t theory — it was judgment, decision-making, and showing up in the moments that matter.
What stood out most wasn’t just the calibre of the participants from within our industry, but how quickly a true sense of community formed. Honest conversations, thoughtful debate, and a willingness to challenge and support one another made this group exceptional. Friendships too.
The connections built over the course of the program will extend far beyond these five days — and that’s exactly the point.
We all learned so much from the Deal Architect Pilot and we’re just getting started.
