Big milestone for Strello Health. Congratulations on your recent raise, exciting momentum for the team and a strong signal of the work ahead. Looking forward to seeing how this next chapter helps accelerate growth and impact.
🚀 Announcing our oversubscribed pre-seed round 🚀 Earlier this month, we closed $1.1M to build the AI front desk for Canadian healthcare. The part we're proudest of: almost every one of our early customers came on as investors. The clinics using Strello every day chose to put their own capital behind us. That's the kind of signal you can't manufacture, and it's set the tone for how we build. We were also lucky to have backing from healthcare strategic investors and OCI, with the MaRS Discovery District Capital Program playing a key role in coordinating the round. Thank you for everything. Since closing, the team has been heads down. A few numbers from the last stretch: 📞 20,000+ calls handled per month 🩺 Hundreds of provider schedules live on Strello 👥 A team expanding across engineering, operations, and clinical The phones don't stop ringing, and now, they don't go unanswered. AI is creating new possibilities across healthcare — from earlier detection and preventative care to more personalized patient experiences. But alongside the opportunity comes important conversations around implementation, trust and how these technologies are introduced responsibly. That's the focus Founders & Physicians: to bring founders, healthcare leaders and innovators together to explore the future of healthcare innovation in Waterloo Region and beyond. We're looking forward to continuing the conversation later this month.
You get sick, you go to the doctor, right? That’s the healthcare system most of us know. Frank Baylis believes AI could help move us toward something very different: a system that is less reactive and far more proactive. Instead of waiting until people feel unwell, AI could help identify when someone needs to be looked at earlier. Frank is clear-eyed about AI. It can be scary. It will transform every field. But when it comes to medicine, he's extremely optimistic. His view is simple: we can’t keep going the way we’re going. We need to pivot. If applied properly, AI can help us treat more people, more effectively, and less expensively, while transforming the way healthcare is delivered. These are exactly the kinds of conversations we’re having at Founders & Physicians. Frank was one of many accomplished guests at our inaugural gathering, and I’m looking forward to continuing the conversation later this month at Communitech with a room filled with founders and physicians. EY, CIBC, TELUS, Pfizer, Dharmesh, Allan, Hesham, Erin, Jennifer, Tim, Dorothy, Armen, Berry, Hamed, Mary, Tobi. #Healthcare #AI #HealthTech #Communitech #FOUNDERSAND #tech

Stronger procurement pathways create stronger domestic tech ecosystems. We were excited to bring local founders, industry leaders and government into the same room to discuss candidly about what it takes to help Canadian companies scale and compete.
Technology procurement requires a unique lens. That was the takeaway from our recent roundtable discussion with local founders and tech executives on Buy Ontario and Buy Canada policies. Leaders across sector and stage highlighted the opportunities and risks in these reforms, as well as the strategic considerations around emerging technologies, intellectual property, and homegrown talent. Thanks to Minister Stephen Crawford, James Wallace, and the teams from Public & Business Services & Procurement | Services au public et aux entreprises & Approvisionnement and Supply Ontario for taking the time to meet with local companies and engaging on solutions and opportunities.

“15 years of entrepreneurship, and this program was the game-changer” 🚀 Shokoufeh Moradi from Openshortlist recently experienced the Fierce Founders Intensive Track, and the impact was clear. It provided a rare, intentional space for coaching and peer connection—the kind of environment that doesn’t just help you survive, but helps you scale. If you are a woman or non-binary founder ready to move past the idea stage and toward $1M+ ARR, this is the room you need to be in.
