“What inspires me most is that even in the busiest and most challenging moments, they never lose sight of the human side of nursing. That ability to balance clinical excellence with compassion is what makes this team truly remarkable.” 🏥CAMH Spotlight is a new series that highlights the people who make a department remarkable. This week, we highlight the nurses of Crisis and Critical Care Unit 6 (CCC6), who show up for each other, encourage one another and teach each other the values that live at the heart of this unit. 🔗Read more: https://lnkd.in/eYqA2Aaz

Mental Health Is Health
About us
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada's largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital. CAMH combines clinical care, research, education, policy development and health promotion to help transform the lives of people affected by mental health and addiction issues. As a teaching hospital, CAMH provides education, training, internships and residencies for students. People training to work in the health care field, including psychiatrists, psychologists, pharmacists, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers and laboratory technologists, come to CAMH for practical experience. We believe that Mental Health is Health, and through our work we are building a movement for social change: raising awareness, challenging prejudice, and advocating for public policies that support mental health. Please note that our social media channels are not monitored 24/7. If you are experiencing thoughts of suicide, you are deserving of help - visit www.camh.ca/gethelp for more information. If you feel safe in the moment, follow up with your family physician or care team. If you require immediate, in-person emergency care, call 911, or go to your nearest emergency department.

Imagine flying through the Milky Way, witnessing the majestic glow of the full moon, and travelling across galaxies — all indoors. Led by Gifts of Light and Shkaabe Makwa, CAMH clients were invited to experience Planetarium: Under One Sky. The event began with a Star Teaching from Shkaabe Makwa, followed by an immersive journey through the stars with Astronomy in Action. The experience created a beautiful opportunity for reflection, connection, and shared experience under one sky. Funded by generous donations, this experience provides a unique opportunity for patients through Gifts of Light. #GiftsofLight #Planetarium
