    2001, als ich bei der Allianz angefangen habe, habe ich einen Stapel DVDs auf den Tisch bekommen, die ich alle durcharbeiten musste: Hausrat, Haftpflicht, Wohngebäude, Unfall, Leben, Krankenversicherung. Ein enormes Volumen an Fachinhalten. Ein paar Jahre später, als ich selbst in HR gearbeitet habe, war ich dann für den Aktualisierungsdienst genau dieser DVDs verantwortlich. Und das war der blanke Horror: Du musstest die Datenträger irgendwohin schicken, sie wurden überarbeitet, kamen zurück – und mussten anschließend wieder verteilt werden. Wenn du pro Jahr zwischen 1.000 und 1.800 neue Mitarbeitende einstellst, spürst du sofort, was das bedeutet. Jede Verzögerung, jede Schleife, jede manuelle Übergabe wird zum echten Hebel – oder zum echten Problem. 2008 haben wir deshalb den Switch gemacht: von DVD auf Online. Ich habe damals mit der Swiss Virtual Business School, im Besonderen mit Sebastian Frankenberger zusammengearbeitet – einem Spin-off der Universität St. Gallen, mit einem Entwicklerteam in Toronto. Mein Chef legte mir einen größeren Betrag auf den Tisch und sagte: „Mit dieser Firma baust du jetzt ein WBT.“ Ich wusste zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht einmal, wofür WBT steht. Also habe ich es mir schnell draufgeschafft. Was ich aus dieser Phase über Skalierung gelernt habe: Wenn sich Inhalte häufig ändern, entscheidet das Format über deine Geschwindigkeit. Bei 1.000–1.800 Onboardings pro Jahr wird jede Reibung im Prozess zum Kosten- und Qualitätsfaktor. Externe Partner funktionieren dann gut, wenn intern jemand Verantwortung übernimmt und lieferfähig wird – auch mit steiler Lernkurve.
