The ideal candidate brings substantial knowledge of and experience in Canadian criminal law, and the practices, procedures, and legal requirements associated with complex critical‑incident investigations. They have proven senior leadership successes guiding the strategic development and leading change of a large, multi‑faceted organization while managing high‑profile, sensitive issues. An exceptional communicator, this candidate has experience with report writing, public speaking and media interaction. Although they have never served as a member of a police force, they understand the role of police within the English Common Law system, as well as the ethics, philosophy, and challenges of civilian oversight of law enforcement.
