Proud to share another strong example of impact in action. Henoc Muamba generously donated $2,500 to provide students with hair services through our Hair for Self-Esteem initiative, directly supporting confidence, dignity, and self-worth in our schools. 💯 Aylesbury Public School will be serviced by participants and leaders from our Beyond Barbering and Beyond Hairstyling programs. This is the closed-loop impact we stand on - students learn a skill, then return to serve their community using that same skill. 💈 At the Bartley Skills Development Program, we focus on building skills that don’t just pay the bills, but positively impact communities. Thank you to RBC, the City of Brampton, Gildan, and all of our volunteers for your continued belief, partnership, and support. This work doesn’t happen without you. 👏

About us
The Bartley Skills Development Program (BSDP) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 2018 by Chadwin and Camille Bartley. Both founders grew up witnessing the everyday challenges in their community, and in response they created BSDP to give young people the resources, confidence, and mentorship they need to thrive. At BSDP, we believe that building a strong career path begins with exposure to diverse activities and perspectives. Our programs introduce youth to sporting and educational opportunities that broaden their horizons, strengthen their networks, and foster lifelong connections. We are proud to provide sports programming, barbering and hairdressing training, and job skills development. Through our Hair for Self-Esteem program, we also deliver free hair services to marginalized communities, helping young people feel their best so they can achieve their best.

Grateful to share some meaningful news. 💈 During this past CFL Grey Cup in Winnipeg, we had the privilege of partnering with Henoc Muamba and Brands for Canada to support youth through our "Hair for Self-Esteem" initiative. There’s something powerful about building confidence through something as simple and human as a haircut. That impact was elevated even further when Henoc took the time to speak life into these young people. Hearing encouragement from someone who has walked a similar path made the message land differently. Brands for Canada rounded out the experience by providing essential care products and clothing, ensuring students left not only confident, but supported. For us at the Bartley Skills Development Program, this marks an important step toward a bigger goal: bringing Hair for Self-Esteem to schools across Canada. Because self-care should be accessible to everyone. 💯 Thank you for the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation for your continued support! This would'nt be possible without you! 👏

We are proud to launch the Beyond Program, five initiatives with one goal: empowering the next generation through skills, mentorship, and career opportunities. 💈 BEYOND BARBERING equips youth with the trade of barbering while introducing them to entrepreneurship and career development. The program creates immediate employment opportunities while instilling discipline, confidence, and workplace values that prepare participants for long-term growth. ✂️ BEYOND HAIRDRESSING provides youth with a career-ready trade that blends creativity with opportunity. Through hands-on training in cutting, colouring, and styling, participants gain technical expertise and workplace values that empower them for employment and future entrepreneurship. 🏀BEYOND SPORTS supports the holistic development of young athletes, preparing them for success on and off the court. Through mentorship, skill-building, and open dialogue with experienced players, youth gain tools to handle performance pressure, career choices, and life beyond the game while developing resilience, leadership, and purpose. 🤝 BEYOND APPRENTICESHIP bridges the gap between training and real-world careers by placing graduates of our programs into apprenticeships with industry professionals. This experience allows youth to refine their skills, build confidence, and develop the connections necessary to launch sustainable and rewarding careers. 💇HAIR FOR SELF-ESTEEM (H4SE) extends the impact of our training programs by offering free hair services to youth in the community. Every haircut boosts confidence and self-esteem while reinforcing the values of self-worth, personal care, and giving back, creating a cycle of empowerment and support. A big thank you to our partners City of Brampton, RBC, TELUS Friendly Future Foundation, and Gildan for helping us bring these initiatives to life. Together, our programs give young people the skills, confidence, and opportunities to thrive in their careers and communities, building stronger futures step by step. If you’d like to join us in empowering the next generation of hair professionals and bringing confidence to communities across Canada, reach out at info@bartleyskills.com.

We are proud to announce our partnership with TELUS in support of the Hair for Self-Esteem initiative.💈 This program was born from a heartbreaking moment, when a young girl contemplated taking her own life because her parents couldn’t afford to get her hair done. That moment changed us. We realized self-esteem and dignity aren’t luxuries, they’re essentials. We want our kids to attend school full of self confidence and high self esteem, without this learning is secondary if students struggle with their image. Hair for Self-Esteem now provides free hair services, mentorship, and skill-building opportunities to students who need it most. Because confidence shouldn't come with a price tag. Thank you, TELUS, for standing with us to ensure no child is left behind because of their appearance. Together, we’re turning pain into purpose, and building futures with every service. ⭐️ #HairForSelfEsteem #BartleySkills #TELUS #YouthEmpowerment #MentalHealth #EquityInEducation #CommunityImpact

We are so proud to announce our second-year partnership with RBC Foundation in support of the Beyond Barbering initiative. 💈 This year, RBC will be supporting 60 youth as they learn the skill of barbering through 6 immersive workshops delivered throughout the calendar year. Students will receive a barber kit that includes Clipper, Trimmer, Comb and a Mannequin head. Beyond Barbering was created to teach young men and women life skills and job-ready, transferable skills through the craft of barbering. Barbering is more than a trade, it’s an entry point into entrepreneurship. It builds confidence, teaches business fundamentals, and creates pathways for youth to thrive. We’re incredibly grateful to RBC Foundation for investing in the future of our youth and believing in the power of skill development. ⭐️ #BeyondBarbering #YouthEmpowerment #Entrepreneurship #CommunityImpact #Barbering #RBCFoundation #BartleySkills
