🚀 RDS Raises €14 Million to Scale MultiSense Remote Patient Monitoring Across Europe Big news in European HealthTech! Strasbourg-based RDS has raised €14 million in Series A funding to accelerate the scale-up of its RDS MultiSense Remote Patient Monitoring solution across Europe. Currently deployed in 15 hospitals in France, Belgium, and Germany, this clinically validated wearable patch continuously tracks vital signs such as heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation. By combining a reusable design with cloud-based monitoring, the system helps hospitals ensure safer patient discharges, enable short-stay hospitalisation protocols, and ultimately improve outcomes. What makes RDS MultiSense Remote Patient Monitoring stand out is its strong sustainability angle. Unlike single-use devices, the patch is designed to be cleaned, refurbished, and reused—helping reduce the carbon footprint of healthcare while supporting eco-conscious medical innovation. The €14M funding round was led by Bpifrance’s SPI fund, alongside Critical Path Ventures, MACSF, and Capital Grand Est. With this backing, RDS is preparing to expand manufacturing in France, strengthen its European footprint, and move toward FDA approval for a U.S. launch by 2028. 🚨 How IMPORTANT is data quality to ensuring the robustness of healthcare AI systems? [HINT: Think about use in development of AI models.] 🤖 France has released its new HEALTH data and AI strategy (2025-2028) which aims to transform care through large-scale datasets, ethical frameworks, and AI innovation, setting the path for more efficient and trusted healthcare. French policymakers and practitioners alike believe that both data and AI are at the core of health transformation. In a global context, healthcare is at a crossroads with France itself spending 12.4% of GDP on healthcare, one of the highest levels in Europe. France emphasizes ethics, regulation, and sovereignty with the goal not only to innovate but to ensure that innovation aligns with European values, protects individual rights, and serves collective well-being. Can DATA and AI be separated? No, since AI systems rely on high-quality data: the more representative, standardized, and comprehensive the data, the more effective and TRUSTWORTHY the AI. France’s vision rests on three key pillars: SOVEREIGNTY, (ensuring data remains under French jurisdiction and that national rules drive AI deployment), TRUST (citizens must have confidence their data will be used responsibly), and INNOVATION (creating an environment suitable for AI systems to be developed tested and deployed responsibly).
