Frederic Taes reposted thisFrederic Taes reposted thisMicrosoft dropped a small galaxy of announcements at Ignite 2025, and if it felt like watching the timeline fractures in Loki, you’re not wrong. They are finally trying to stitch together its chaotic, rapidly mutating AI ecosystem… Here’s what stood out for me! 1. Microsoft Is Building a Digital Labor Universe After two years of hyper-speed experimentation, shifting alliances, and more renames than a Game of Thrones character trying to stay alive, Microsoft is now consolidating its AI sprawl into a few pillars: -Work IQ, Fabric IQ, Foundry IQ The new intelligence layers helping agents find the right data (finally). -Agent Factory A program for building and deploying role-based agents, with a unified licensing pool. Less “choose your own adventure,” more “here’s the map.” -Agent 365 One control plane to govern them all. Think of it as Microsoft finally admitting that having five different control systems for agents was a terrible idea. This is the foundation for Microsoft’s next big play: digital labor. Agents will become part of the org chart, licensed like human employees, and capable of taking over entire workflows. 2. Microsoft Is Moving at Lightspeed… Customers Aren’t… That’s where things get messy. Most organizations are still trying to get M365 Copilot into production for a tiny portion of their workfor ce. Meanwhile, Microsoft just opened the floodgates to advanced agent capabilities, digital labor models, and new governance layers. According to Gartner: * 60% of organizations have rolled out Copilot to 20% or less of eligible users. * Only 15% are even considering autonomous agents. * Many are still untangling SharePoint, fixing permissions, or cleaning up governance. 3. The Surprise Move? Supercharging Copilot Chat (for Free) Microsoft quietly dropped what might be its boldest strategic decision: Copilot Chat, the free version included in M365, is getting capabilities previously reserved for paid Copilot. This is the opposite of the upsell model most expected, and let’s be honest, that’s usually what they do. But Instead, Microsoft is betting on mass adoption first, monetization later. And honestly? It’s the right play. 4. So what’s the recommendation to do with all this, you ask? Don’t Rush. Don’t be their Guinea Pig. Most orgs should not try to keep pace with Microsoft’s rapid roadmap. Early adopters of Copilot often suffered from security gaps and missing capabilities. Late adopters are actually in a better place because the tech has matured. Microsoft is designing the next era of work at blistering speed. But enterprises win not by being first… but by being ready. You don’t lose competitive advantage by not sprinting after Microsoft’s newest AI toys on day one. You lose it by failing to prepare for when those toys actually matter.

Frederic Taes shared thisProud to be part of the team that delivered the software infrastructure to make this happen. What a great effort, focusing on the best Customer Experience a company can aim for. Well done AG Insurance !Frederic Taes shared thisThe Sound of C initiative is about listening to our AG Insurance customers in order to better understand how we meet and could meet better their expectations and continue to innovate... This is common sense, but believe me common sense is not necessarily common practice mainly when the 500 colleagues participating to the call experience are not necessarily the ones daily in touch with our customers. Every positive interactions counts in order to build healthier relationships with our customers, and the sound of the customers must be heard throughout the Company and at all levels 😉 Thanks to all our participants and organizing teams but above all thanks to our customers and to all operations teams daily devoted to excellent service (*) ;-) Great step towards the future ! Definitely a huge opportunity, but in practice? The jury is still out. So far, we haven't seen it proven at scale yet. Although we're definitely curious! I am just wondering if the ERP business for small and medium enterprise will have trouble with AI code generation and custom software development? For example Odoo, they just try to have an app, the basic foundations for many business areas. They split efforts in many directions. A custom development with AI support can go strong in the business direction. The time spend in adjusting an ERP can be invested in a single unique app? what do you think?

One of the most interesting shifts in Odoo right now is not in the UI. It is in the direction of the product itself. Odoo is slowly becoming less about “managing operations” and more about making decisions faster inside the system. That matters. Because most businesses do not fail from a lack of data. They fail from the delay between: data → interpretation → action. And that gap is where Odoo’s evolution feels important. The recent updates are not just about adding more functionality. They are about making the system feel more connected, more responsive, and more useful at the moment a decision needs to be made. That is the real opportunity with Odoo. not simply automating tasks, but building a business environment where information is already close to action. For founders and operators, that changes the question. It is no longer: “What can we customize?” It is: “What decisions should the system help us make better?” That is where the real value is. #Odoo #ERP #BusinessSystems #DigitalTransformation #Automation #AI #Operations #BusinessGrowth #FounderLife #SaaS #Technology #EnterpriseSoftware #ProcessImprovement #BusinessStrategy #OdooCommunity

Every time I speak with a company that’s unhappy with their Odoo setup, the story starts the same way: “We built something custom because we needed it.” Then a pause. “And now we’re stuck with it.” And when you dig a little, you realise the “need” wasn’t the problem. The customisation was. Someone wanted a slightly different flow. Someone insisted on keeping an old habit alive. Someone thought their process was unique. And a developer said yes. Six months later, the team can’t upgrade and the whole setup feels heavier than it should. The irony is that Odoo standard already covered most of what they wanted. They just never got the chance to try it because nobody challenged them. Standard isn’t restrictive. It’s what gives the system a long life, away from heavy upgrade costs. Custom has its place, but not everywhere, and definitely not first. If your Odoo feels overbuilt, the issue isn’t the tool. It’s what was added on top.

When our client said: “We need to migrate all our products, variations, and inventory to Odoo — and we only have a few days.” I knew this was going to be a real challenge. I had already built my own custom ETL tool for cases like this. But this time was different: ⏱️ The timeline was tight ⚡️ The data was complex and most importantly → everything had to land perfectly in Odoo So I decided to rebuild the process in n8n — using the same ETL logic I’d built before, but this time faster, cleaner, and more flexible. Here’s what the workflow handled 👇 1️⃣ Fetch product data from multiple sources 2️⃣ Map and align category structures 3️⃣ Create product variations (variants) dynamically 4️⃣ Sync inventory data directly into Odoo ✨ The result? The client’s full catalog was migrated into Odoo without a single broken record. Inventory levels were accurate from day one. Their team continued operations without any downtime — as if the migration never happened. For me, this project was a strong reminder: You don’t always need to reinvent the wheel. With the right combination of n8n for automation and Odoo as the ERP backbone, you can move faster, stay transparent, and deliver real business continuity. 👉 If you were migrating your business data into Odoo, which approach would you choose? A custom-built ETL tool, or a flexible automation platform like n8n?

Simplify Odoo ERP Security with OSTA’s All-in-One Analyzer Most businesses treat ERP security as an afterthought. Why? Because it feels like it should be safe by default. It’s behind the firewall. It's password-protected. It has MFA. But here’s the kicker → most attacks don’t come through the front door. They creep in through unmonitored user activity, misconfigured permissions, outdated modules, or subtle abuse that your WAF never sees. And when it hits your ERP? It hits everything. Finance. Inventory. HR. Operations. A single breach can paralyze your business. So, what’s the alternative? You could build a custom security monitoring system… or spend days digging through logs manually… or patch together a dozen tools… Or you could simplify the whole thing. We built OSTA (Odoo Security Threat Analyzer) for this exact reason. It’s an all-in-one security layer that: • Collects client-side and server-side logs • Performs black-box and white-box scans • Detects common vulnerabilities • Highlights anomalies in real-time Think of it as: Scan → Detect → Defend, without the overhead. If your team uses Odoo and wants to stay ahead of threats (without babysitting your ERP), this might be the easiest decision you make all quarter. Wait… why does Odoo 19’s Planning app feel like the one feature we never knew we desperately needed? I opened the Planning app, and for a moment… I just stared at the screen. Not because it looked complicated. But because it looked simple. ✔ Your schedule. ✔ Your team's schedule. ✔ Real-time progress. ✔ Drag-and-drop shifts. ✔ Zero clicks wasted. For years, shift planning felt like a punishment, spreadsheets everywhere, endless WhatsApp messages, last-minute confusion, and “Wait… who’s actually working today?” moments. But Odoo 19 quietly changed the game. Let me break down what impressed me 👇 🟩 Full-color shifts These are shifts that are fully planned and published. Clear. Bold. “This is happening.” 🟪 Diagonal stripes The shift is planned… but not yet published. A gentle visual reminder: “Finish this before your team asks 10 questions.” ⚪ Grayed-out background These employees are on time-off. No more “Oops, I forgot they were on leave.” 🔵 Progress bars Jaw-dropping addition. You can instantly see which shifts are currently in progress and tied to actual timesheets. This is the kind of detail that saves managers hours. 🩶 Temporary gray shifts when copying When you duplicate shifts, Odoo shows copied shifts in full color and the older ones in a subtle gray just long enough to avoid confusion. A tiny UX detail… but it shows how deeply Odoo thinks about real workflows. 💡And the best part? The entire schedule runs in Gantt view. Which means you can: ➡ Drag & drop ➡ Resize ➡ Split shifts ➡ Duplicate tasks ➡ Reassign roles ➡ And plan your entire week visually …without opening a single form. This is what software SHOULD feel like. Not overwhelming. Not cluttered. Just efficient. Human. Clear. Planning is the heart of operations. And with Odoo 19, it finally looks like a system built for humans, not administrators. If you run operations, HR, staffing, hospitality, or anything shift-based… This feature alone is worth exploring. #Odoo19 #OdooCommunity #OdooTips #OdooImplementation #OdooERP #OdooConsultant #DigitalTransformation #OpenSourceERP

🚀 We are now live with the 2026 Belgian e-Invoicing requirements Platinum Services Europe has implemented the full mandate for our own operations — and made the solution available to all Epicor Kinetic users. To deliver this, we combined Automation Studio powered by Workato ⚙️ with Epicor’s native tools, including Functions, Forms... Why Automation Studio? Because it gives us the agility needed to adapt quickly. Today, our endpoint is Storecove 🔗, but if our customer prefers another Peppol Access Point, the recipes can be easily adjusted. With a new national mandate, flexibility remains key as updates may still arise. ✨ What the solution supports • Sending sales invoices (Peppol BIS 3.0) • Receiving purchase invoices via the Peppol network 📥 • Optional automations such as automatic vendor creation, validation rules, and more • Easy extension when requirements evolve If you are interested in the solution developed by Platinum Services Europe, we are available to walk them through the full setup and the options included. A solid step forward — for us and for our Epicor customers. 🇧🇪 #EInvoicing #Belgium2026 #Peppol #DigitalCompliance #VATDigitalAge #EpicorKinetic #AutomationStudio #Workato #Storecove #ERPIntegration #FinanceDigitalization #PlatinumServicesEurope #TeamEpicor

Odoo Business Software… • 1K followers
ERP implementations don’t take long. They take attention. One question I often get: “How long does an Odoo implementation take?” The honest answer: It depends on you. Some companies want one meeting per week. Others want to move fast and meet every day. Both are fine. But the timeline of an ERP project is rarely limited by the software. It’s limited by availability, decisions and internal alignment. Because after many meetings, there is homework. Review the chart of accounts. Align with the CPA. Define how your sales process should work. We guide the process. But the business decisions stay with the company. That’s why implementation speed is never just a technical question. It’s an ownership question.

Automating retrieval of government documents with BoxFlow and Odoo 🚀 Sien Vanhove gave me a great tip yesterday about BoxFlow and it has already saved me a lot of manual work. The Boxflow platform connects directly to Belgian government portals like eBox-Enterprise and myMinFin. It retrieves documents automatically so you don't have to click through six different tabs to find what you need. From there, you can set it to forward those files wherever you want. How I set it up: * I configured my company "BusNes" incoming mail server in Odoo with a specific email address for BoxFlow to send to. * I created a folder called 'FromGOV' in the Odoo Documents app. * The mail gateway in Odoo is set up so that any attachments BoxFlow sends are placed directly into that folder. The result: The entire process is fully automated and everything is archived correctly without me having to lift a finger. I had the whole thing running in about 10 minutes! Boxflow even offers a free plan for one organization with up to five messages per month. That is more than enough for what I need right now. Kudos to BoxFlow and Odoo for making this automation so easy to set up. 👏 #Odoo #BoxFlow #Busnes #Automation #DigitalTransformation #Efficiency #Belgium #eBox #Workflow

Before you even think of implementing Odoo, there’s a choice to make: Fixed delivery or flexible consultancy. One gives you clarity. The other gives you room to adapt. For us, a SoW works best. Why? → Clear deliverables → Aligned expectations → Agreed timelines When the scope is fixed, everyone knows where they’re going. That’s huge for avoiding scope creep and protecting budgets. But… flexibility has its place. Sometimes projects evolve mid-flight. New needs come up. Priorities shift. In those cases, being too rigid can slow progress and frustrate teams. That’s why a consultant mindset matters. Knowing when to stick to the plan - and when to bend it - is a strategic call that can make or break the project. 📌 Have you ever started with a fixed SoW, only to realise mid-project that a flexible model would have been better (or vice versa)? What happened?

Odoo 15 → 18 upgrade – and one question I’d really value your opinion on 👇 We’ve been upgrading our Odoo 15 environment to version 18 since last summer. As expected, this hasn’t been a simple “click-and-go” update. Multiple migration rounds, testing challenges, and significant changes in functionality – especially in contract management. But the biggest question isn’t technical. 💸 Is it reasonable to pay ~€5,000 for just a few extra days on the old version? Odoo decided to extend support for version 15, which is good news in principle. However, in practice this means an additional cost for us – even though we are already paying for maintenance. At the same time, Odoo’s CEO has emphasized a strong focus on customer experience. 👉 So here’s the real question: Does this kind of pricing actually support a good customer experience? I understand the business logic – maintaining older versions has a cost. But where is the line between fair pricing and what feels like forced extra billing? In our case: We need roughly 15 more days on Odoo 15 before going live with 18 The additional cost is about €5,000 🤔 What’s your take? Is this: 👍 A fair and justified cost from a software vendor 👎 Or poor customer experience for a long-term customer? Would be very interested to hear how others have experienced similar ERP upgrade situations. #odoo #erp #saas #customerexperience #software
