Thrilled to announce that our CEO, Tal Shapira, will be speaking at the upcoming PLA World Congress in Munich! 🥨 At TripleW, we often get asked how we view the massive global challenge of food waste. To explain our vision we like to look back at the 19th-century Petroleum Revolution. Before the 1850s, "rock oil" was considered a valueless nuisance - a messy byproduct that ruined farmland and contaminated wells. It only became the foundation of the modern world when refiners figured out how to "crack" that valueless sludge into high-value energy and materials. Today, food waste is our "rock oil." Most see it as a costly liability to be buried or burned. At TripleW, we see it as an abundant, untapped "ore." We aren't just managing waste; we are the refiners of the 21st century. By converting this carbon-rich resource into lactic acid, we are creating the foundational building blocks for the next generation of PLA and sustainable bioplastics. Tal added: "I look forward to sharing how we are scaling this food-waste-to-PLA opportunity and why the future of the circular economy isn't just about recycling - it’s about high-value upcycling." See you in Munich! 🇩🇪 Renewable Carbon Plastics Alex Thielen #PLAWorldCongress #CircularEconomy #Bioplastics #FoodWaste #LacticAcid

On this edition of Renewable Carbon Plastics I was interviewed by Alex Thielen on the scaleup of bioplastic made from food waste, but also from bioplastic waste! The single full circle solution in the market today enabling an end of life solution which is actually not the end! For every Kg of Circulac® we make, it is made from materials that keep the carbon working. Key takeaways from our discussion: ♻️ Beyond Food Waste: While utilizing organic waste is a game-changer, our ability to incorporate bioplastic waste back into the production cycle creates a truly closed loop. 📈 Scaling Impact: Moving from pilot to industrial scale is the critical hurdle for the bio-economy. We discussed how Circulac® is bridging that gap. 🌍 Carbon Persistence: It's not just about being "bio-based"—it's about ensuring carbon stays in the value chain rather than entering the atmosphere. As TripleW scales, the goal remains the same: proving that plastic doesn't have to be a "linear" problem, but can be a circular resource. Thank you to Alex and the team at Renewable Carbon Plastics for the deep dive into how we are making "End of Life" a relic of the past. Check out the full interview on pages 24-27 in the latest issue! #Bioplastics #CircularEconomy #RenewableCarbon #Sustainability #FoodWaste #Innovation #Circulac https://lnkd.in/eyfd7rz8

I used to be the kid reading shampoo bottles in the shower. I was fascinated by the labels. What did those long names actually mean? Where did they come from? Back then, I didn't realize that almost every one of those "chemical stories" started at a fossil fuel refinery. Today, at TripleW, we are changing that narrative. As a result of our collaboration with LAVOLLEE, TripleW is officially in your hair gel. 🧴 But it’s not just any ingredient. Our product, Circulac®, is Lactic Acid born from upcycled food waste and produced in Belgium 🇧🇪. Here is why that’s a win for the industry: 👉 Performance: It’s a moisture-retaining powerhouse that keeps scalps hydrated and balances pH levels perfectly. 👉 Decarbonization: We are turning food waste into high-value chemistry, hitting the EU’s Green Deal goals head-on. 👉 Resiliency: We’re helping the EU transition away from imported fossil-based chemicals toward homegrown, circular solutions. Scaling a deep-tech company usually costs a few hairs (trust me, I’ve lost a few during this journey!), but seeing a "circularity powerhouse" finally hit the shelves makes it all worth it. Is Lactic Acid already in your formula? Let’s make it circular. Message our sales team Denis Wiliquet today to swap your fossil-based ingredients for Circulac®. #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #DeepTech #TripleW #GreenChemistry #Innovation
