After 15 years working as a developer across both small and enterprise projects, I noticed the same problem over and over again: cloud infrastructure had become far more complicated than it needed to be. I was looking for a European alternative to platforms like DigitalOcean, something self-service and easy to use, while still offering access to technical experts for help. Instead, I found platforms filled with complexity, unpredictable pricing, and infrastructure management that often felt disconnected from the needs of small and medium-sized businesses. So I decided to build Simplestack: a simpler, transparent European cloud platform designed to keep your infrastructure running while remaining easy to manage every day. Ik merk dat veel agencies die Laravel-projecten bouwen tegen hetzelfde probleem aanlopen: - hosting die “werkt”… tot het ineens niet meer werkt - weinig support als er iets misgaat - lastig om eventjes een videocall op te zetten om samen met de technische medewerkers tot een oplossing te komen Recent hielp ik een agency die vastliep met hun setup bij Hetzner. Ze zochten vooral rust en betrouwbaarheid voor hun Laravel Forge servers. We hebben hun infrastructuur opnieuw opgezet en vooral: simpel en stabiel gemaakt. Dat bracht me aan het denken. Volgens mij speelt dit probleem bij veel meer Laravel agencies / dev teams. Daarom wil ik dit beter begrijpen.
