Today marks an important milestone for the Belgian aerospace industry. The BeLightning consortium, bringing together SABCA, ASCO and Sonaca, officially inaugurated the first Belgian production line for F-35 horizontal tail planes at Sonaca’s site in Gosselies, in the presence of Prime Minister Bart De Wever, Minister of Defense Theo Francken Theo F., and regional dignitaries. At SABCA, we are proud to contribute to this effort, with advanced composites taking shape where precision and performance meet. Built on decades of expertise in civil and defense aviation, our teams produce the composite skins and substructure of these critical components. These lightweight, high-performance materials are essential to the F-35’s stealth, aerodynamic efficiency, and operational capability. From our site in Lummen, SABCA combines craftsmanship with cutting-edge technologies to deliver structures that meet the most demanding standards of a global defense program. We are proud to contribute to this key project which will generate over €400 million in economic impact for Belgium and around 150 highly skilled jobs by 2035, while supporting Belgium’s strong position within the F-35 industrial ecosystem. We're proud to celebrate the delivery of the 100th P120 Electromechanical Actuator (EMA) to our customer, a major milestone that reflects the expertise, commitment, and team spirit of SABCA’s talents. The P120 is a SABCA-designed #electromechanical actuator, part of the Thrust Vector Control mechanism that steers Ariane and Vega rockets towards their desired orbits. This achievement highlights SABCA’s know‑how in the design, development, qualification, and serial production of critical electromechanical actuators for the aerospace industry.  From engineering and industrialization to testing, assembly, and delivery, the P120 EMA embodies the highest standards of reliability, performance, and quality that characterize our solutions. Reaching this 100th delivery demonstrates the technological reliability of our teams in electromechanical systems, but also our ability to meet the ambitious ramp-up of Europe’s space capabilities with the Ariane and Vega programs. We are proud to announce the delivery of SABCA's 25,000th DDV (Direct Drive Valve) to our customer. DDV's are a type of hydraulic control valve used in aircraft braking systems. Reaching this milestone is the result of years of engineering expertise, operational excellence, and strong #teamwork across all departments, from design and production to quality and logistics.
