This started with a very practical question: How to get rid of the manual loop between ACC, Autodesk Forma, and Qonic. It does work but keeping model data clean is tough. Tiemen Strobbe created a prototype with public APIs: input the model, enrich in Qonic and and push it back out. Someone replied to Tiemen's original post: "Having to open up Revit just for 10mm displacement is a nightmare." Let us know what you think, especially if you're working with cross-platform model management. #BIMwithoutBoundaries #openBIM #Qonic

We’re about to drop a major redesign of the Qonic dashboard. 🧑💻✨ We spent the last few months rethinking the entire layout to save you clicks, remove clutter, and speed up your workflow. Here’s a quick look at what’s landing soon: → 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: A new top bar and breadcrumbs so you always know where you are. → 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗿: A new permanent home for all your project data → 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: Search, switch, and drag-and-drop your projects into the order that works best for you. Get a first look at the transformation in the teaser video below, and stay tuned for the official drop! #Qonic #BIMwithoutBoundaries #NewRelease #NewDashboard

This Wednesday, Chloe Guidi from Qonic is joining "AI Across The Product Lifecycle" for a conversation about AI, CAD, BIM, and what the next generation of AEC tools could look like with Michael Finocchiaro and Moritz Rietschel. For us, the interesting question is not just how AI can make things faster. It is how AI can help turn building models into something more connected, structured, and useful throughout the project lifecycle. Looking forward to it! Join us live tomorrow 👇

The reason BIM killed creative flow: every authoring tool was built around data first. → Before you could model a roof, you needed to define the roof type. → Before you could explore a massing, you needed a floor-to-floor height. Qonic's direct modelling engine lets you model any geometry without predefining what it is. You can classify it later. You can mature it when the design is ready. And because it connects with Cesium 3D tiles by Bentley Systems, your model sits in real urban context from day one. Stop fighting the software. Upload an IFC file and see how fast it loads 👇

"Assign Precast for all beams and columns except for those longer than 8m. Assign In-Situ for all the rest." If you’ve ever had to filter a massive structural model for a takeoff, you know exactly how annoying a rule like that is to execute manually. At NXT BLD, we threw that exact rule at Qonic using plain language. In less than two minutes, right in the browser, Qonic parsed the 774 concrete elements, isolated the 45 precast components in cyan, left the 729 in-situ elements in red, and completely reorganized the takeoff report. This is the end of the manual property check. Coming soon to Qonic. 🤩

Dieter is testing something new 👀
Today, I will be testing the #formwork calculator that we are developing. This new feature has got me really excited. Anyone working for a contractor will know how much time this feature can save. One topic we have to decide on is whether the panels should be Doka yellow or PERI red. 😁 #QTO #OpenBIM #BIMwithoutBoundaries #Qonic #AEC #Innovation

A wall should not stay empty geometry until someone checks it later. That was the idea behind what we showed at NXT BLD: a live integration between Qonic and KOPE where drawing a wall in Qonic immediately connects the model to real product systems, cost, carbon, and constructability data. Usually, product logic enters the process after design intent has already moved on. You model first, then export, coordinate, check, and resolve later. With KOPE surfaced inside Qonic, that feedback becomes part of the modelling process itself. As the model changes, the product logic and performance feedback change with it. Under the hood, wall geometry is fetched, interpreted, and connected to KOPE's product data in real time, bridging two different data models through open APIs on both sides. → The result is simple: practical construction decisions can happen while the design is still moving. Big thanks to the KOPE team for building this with us. Mark Thorley Sam Cummings Radu Gidei Tiemen Strobbe Jacob De Sutter Aaron Perry

Our NXT BLD aftermovie is here. 🙌 A look back at Qonic in London, where Aaron Perry showed how modelling, AI-assisted workflows, and openBIM can come together in one browser-based BIM environment. Thank you to everyone who joined the session, visited the stand, or believes BIM workflows can be better than they are today.
