The AWS Digital Sovereignty Competency identifies AWS Partners with demonstrated expertise to advise and architect for their customers’ digital sovereignty needs, while leveraging AWS services and controls. These partners are a community of validated AWS Partners with advanced AWS sovereignty experience, capabilities, and services.

While there is no one definition of digital sovereignty, we’ve been able to distill key themes by listening to customers, partners, and regulators. This includes Data Residency and Security; to know where your data is and have control of where it's stored and transferred to at all times, Operator Access Restriction; to be sure that neither AWS nor any unauthorized entity or individual can access your data in the cloud, Resiliency and Survivability; to sustain operations despite any kind of emergency or foreign disruption, and Independence and Transparency; to govern ownership and operational requirements to include local technology vendors. We continue to invent based on the criteria that we know are most important for our customers. Digital sovereignty is a priority for customers globally, who are seeking increasing control over the data and infrastructure supporting digital services.
