T&DA PRESENTS 30-MINUTE AI-DRIVEN MIXED MEDIA PIECE AT CREATIVE CIRCLE At the 2025 edition of Creative Circle Event, hosted inside Sydney’s Machine Hall and presented by Limehouse, T&DA unveiled a 30-minute moving image piece that sat somewhere between digital art, motion collage, and tongue-in-cheek cultural commentary. Continuing our studio’s ongoing experiments in normalising AI through artistic practice, the work blended generative visuals with handcrafted motion design, original poetry, and slogans like “AI is your Frenemy” and “Intelligence is over.” Set to a bright, celebratory palette, the visuals unfolded like a fever dream or people clapping, bodies moving, colours surging; the imagery was loosely based of the Salvador Dali and Luis Bunuel film Un Chien Andalou crossed with 1927 Metropolis. Under the creative direction of Chris Breeze, the project leaned into AI as a tool rather than a gimmick. Character animations featured LoRA-trained likenesses of our entire team, adding an eerie, personal touch. While the workflow benefited from AI’s speed, the result was far from automatic. The mixed-media layering, rhythm, and tone unmistakably, arty, satirical, slightly off and took real graft. The piece was designed to elevate the energy of the night, not interrupt it. But beneath the upbeat gloss, a quiet unease lingered, a reminder that while the crowd dances, we may be drifting toward something stranger. Seeing the work play out on a big screen, above over 500 creatives, felt like the right message at the right time: celebratory on the surface, but loaded if you choose to look deeper.
