What are the most effective tools for international e-commerce?
A few in my tool kit. 1. Avalara for taxes and duties. 2. Shopify markets for easy selling into new markets - ability to sell in foreign currency, without needing a new website. 3. Having a multi-carrier approach. Don't reply on one shipping co. Have you considered Seko as well as the usual suspects? 4. Loop for easy international returns.

What steps can you take to get effective feedback for your business?
Reviews. And here's how to use them. 1. Scrape your positive reviews and collate the themes into groups - Fast delivery, Good quality, Good fit, etc. Identify these as your Unique Sales Propositions (USPs) - use these on your homepage and in your comms. 2. Scrape the negative reviews from your competitors, and aim to fill those gaps. This is a free gap analysis that can help you to develop your own USPs, especially for a new business working out how to be different.

What are some effective inventory waste reduction techniques for a just-in-case environment?
Over ordering can send you broke. Here are some tips to manage inventory and ordering: 1. Understand the metric of 'cover'. A business that imports needs no more than 3 months cover. 2. To work out 3 months cover, take your average daily sales per product, and multiple by 90 (days). 3. Use your ABC analysis in Shopify reports. Grade A inventory equates to 80% of your sales - stay on top of it. Grade B, is 15% of sales, and Grace C is the stinker, at only 5% of sales. Keep your Grade C inventory under control by clearing it, and stay on top of replenishment by treating Grade A like gold.

How can you incentivize repeat purchases with promotions?
In my experience, here are the circumstances in which I would offer a discount, in return for loyalty: 1. In an email welcome series. Why? Because a customer is also an email subscriber almost always has a higher LTV than any other channel - so they'll pay you back over time. 2. As an incentive to download your app. Why? Because an app user can spend up to 20% more (with less ad spend) than a mobile or desktop user. So again, they pay you back. 3. As part of a loyalty program. But not on the first order. Discounts or incentives for certain milestones, for example when the customer has reached $1000 in spend. Why? Because it keeps them happy, and they're already paying you back. Thanks folks.
