This month we celebrate the Zipsterversary of Celine D. from the Zip US Customer Relationship Management (CRM) team. Reflecting on the first three years of her Zipstory, Celine - our CRM Operations Marketing Manager - says her journey has been a ride full of growth and learning, from the very start! “My three years at Zip have been filled with opportunities to jump into challenges and own solutions. And I’ve always felt empowered by both leaders and peers to take initiative and drive change. I’ve also worked with so many Zipsters across different teams and found that everyone is genuinely invested in leveling each other up. Collaboration and knowledge sharing are second nature here, and this has enabled me to really make an impact beyond my core role, which is something I find unique about working at Zip. I’m excited to keep challenging myself while also supporting the growth of others, just like so many Zipsters have done for me.” Congratulations on your Zipsterversary Celine, keep changing the game!

Happy third Zipsterversary to Sam Cooper, Partner Success and Business Development Specialist. With a focus on our SMB-Mid Market merchants in New Zealand, ‘Coops’ initially joined Zip in the CX team following a successful career in retail. He puts his growth as a Zipster down to the influence of leaders and a culture of empowerment. “I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some great leaders since joining Zip, which has given me the confidence to excel. Another thing that helps me get my best work done is the autonomy in my role, whether that’s the flexibility to work from home or feeling able to offer my unique perspective on how to get the job done. Looking ahead, I'm excited to take on whatever new challenges come my way and as always, I’ll strive to put forward solutions that stand the test of time.” Thanks Coops for all you bring to Team NZ and the broader ZipFam, here’s to continued successes ahead!

March has been a month for celebrating International Women’s Month, with a series of events and initiatives focused on community connection, career growth and personal experiences. From storytelling (hear from three inspiring Zipsters Zae Wilson, Brooke L. and Cassia Gulley via links in the comments below) and highlighting women-owned merchants in the Zip app, to our International Women’s Day panel featuring Group CEO Cynthia Scott and ANZ Chief Product Officer Lauren McCormack, we’re proud to bring together Zipsters and our partners to support and recognise the impact of game-changing women from across Zip and our communities. We’re also excited to be co-hosting an event next week in our Sydney offices alongside Her Tech Circle, focused on innovation and decision-making in leadership. Thanks to all Zipsters and our partners for ‘Marching Forward’, this month and beyond.

Happy third Zipsterversary to Assistant Controller, US Sean Dalwood. Sean, whose Zipstory began in Sydney as part of the Group Financial Control Team before moving to the US with Zip two years ago, is passionate about the role finance can play in enabling business success. He’s also clear on what aspects of life at Zip have fuelled his own career trajectory. “Our focus on internal mobility and career development has led to an incredible opportunity for both my personal and professional growth. I am someone who embraces change and I believe in treating uncertainty as an opportunity rather than an obstacle. That mindset, combined with the support, mentoring and exposure to senior leaders here at Zip, has been key to accelerating my career. We have a very open and collaborative approach to problem solving and I’m excited by the role I have to play in developing our future leaders across the organization.” Congratulations on three-mendous years Sean!

Congratulations to Will Walker, Associate Director, Analytics and Data Science, who recently marked six-tacular years as a Zipster! Will says his time at Zip has been an unbelievable ride, one from which he’s never looked back. “I’ve had the privilege of working with so many talented data professionals and stakeholders, all as part of a relatively flat structure and a strong cross-functional culture. It means as Zipsters we have a voice and gain broad exposure, which has been such a positive environment for me to collaborate, innovate and grow. One of the things that I think sets Zip apart is our team’s involvement across the entire lifecycle of a project. For example, it’s been very rewarding to be involved in projects like integrating analytics tools and building machine learning and other AI applications from the ground up - taking ideas from the concept stage, developing them, and deploying them into production. I'm incredibly proud that our work over the years has played an important role in providing clarity and helping shape decisions attached to business priorities. This is exactly where you want to be as a data team.”
