At NVIDIA GTC 2026, one message came through clearly. AI is no longer experimental. It is operational, industrial, and scaling fast. As Jensen Huang put it, “AI is now infrastructure. It is becoming as fundamental as electricity and the internet.” This shift changes the conversation for leaders. The challenge is no longer access to models. It is access to infrastructure that can support continuous, high-density, always-on workloads at scale. From AI factories to large-scale inference, the focus is now on production systems that deliver sustained performance, operational certainty, and the ability to scale without disruption. Infrastructure decisions are now directly tied to speed to market, risk exposure, and long-term growth capacity. S4 Sydney has officially broken ground. Located in the Western Sydney Employment Area, this hyperscale campus is purpose-built as nationally significant infrastructure, delivering up to 350MW of IT capacity and directly integrating into the state transmission network through new 330kV infrastructure and substation upgrades. The milestone was marked with a sod turning alongside Multiplex, and a smoking ceremony led by Uncle Colin Locke. Simon Cooper, NEXTDC’s Global Chief Development Officer, attended the sod turning, noting: “A $3.1 billion investment, S4 Sydney is the infrastructure powering the next wave of AI and digital growth.” As demand for AI and high-density computing accelerates, infrastructure must scale just as quickly. S4 Sydney reflects this shift, delivering the capacity required for future-ready platforms and supporting local jobs and long-term economic growth in Western Sydney. Projects of this scale underpin strategic advantage, enable future-ready infrastructure, and reinforce the operational certainty required to support sustained digital growth. The NSW Government’s Data Centre Consultation Paper marks a constructive step toward shaping how digital infrastructure scales across the state. A principles-based approach, backed by industry engagement, reflects the growing recognition that data centres are critical to how economies operate, adapt, and compete. Data Centres Australia’s response reinforces this. The focus now is on ensuring implementation remains evidence-based, supports efficient resource use, and maintains the speed and clarity needed to attract long-term investment. As demand for AI and digital services accelerates, the role of infrastructure becomes even more central. It underpins reliable operations, enables future capacity, and creates the conditions for sustained economic advantage. Applications for the NEXTDC 2027 Graduate Program open.   Starting a career in digital infrastructure means stepping into a fast-evolving industry where no two days are the same and opportunities to learn come quickly.    Here’s a snippet from one of our current graduates on their experience so far.    Eric Fu joined NEXTDC as a Network Engineer Graduate in 2025, drawn to the challenge of working at scale in an industry that powers AI. Since joining, he has gained hands-on experience across the full network lifecycle, building capability across software, cloud and infrastructure in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.    A standout experience has been contributing to a disaster recovery project for cloud environments, where he developed both technical depth and real-world problem-solving skills early in his career.    For the 2027 Graduate Program, opportunities are available across multiple disciplines in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.    If you are curious, collaborative and excited about contributing to Australia’s digital future, apply now →  https://lnkd.in/g5WTW_FQ    #GraduateProgram #Careers #Technology #DigitalInfrastructure #NEXTDC #DataCentres

Proud to see NEXTDC’s Head of People & Culture, Ellie Whitton, recognised in Data Centre Magazine’s Top 100 Women.   In light of International Women’s Day earlier this month, and this year’s focus on accelerating progress, it’s encouraging to see women shaping the future of digital infrastructure recognised at this level. Approaching 11 years with NEXTDC this April, Ellie has been part of the journey from early growth through to scale, helping build not just teams, but a culture that creates career pathways, develops leadership capability, and supports people to grow with the business. Her work reflects the role People & Culture plays beyond recruitment, enabling organisations to adapt, scale, and succeed through their people. #DataCentres #WomenInTech #IWD2026 #Leadership #DigitalInfrastructure

How CIOs can evaluate operational certainty in the AI era CIOs aren’t short on strategy. They’re short on certainty as next-generation compute increases complexity across core infrastructure. As AI workloads scale, leaders are asking: How consistent are operational outcomes as density increases? Where do dependencies introduce hidden risk? Which parts of the stack must remain predictable to support speed and innovation? Examine why operational certainty across power, security, connectivity, and delivery is becoming a practical foundation for managing digital risk in the AI era. Sustainability is becoming a defining constraint in AI infrastructure. As Malaysia scales its digital economy, energy demand, water usage and ESG accountability are shaping how infrastructure is designed and deployed. NEXTDC’s KL1 Kuala Lumpur reflects this shift. It has achieved a Provisional GBI Platinum rating, alongside Green Mark Platinum Design certification, and has passed Uptime Institute Tier IV construction and fault tolerance audits for Phase 1. These certifications signal alignment with leading sustainability frameworks and readiness for evolving regulatory expectations. As standards rise, sustainable design is becoming critical to scaling AI reliably and responsibly. See how sustainable infrastructure is shaping Malaysia’s digital future → https://hubs.la/Q0480zmk0 #Sustainability #DataCentres #DigitalInfrastructure #AI #Malaysia #APAC
