Three things we learned from Gavin's webinar on Founder-led Marketing for Deep Tech founders 👀 🚦 You are the signal. Pre-Series A, 73% of angel investors say the founding team is their #1 investment criteria, not the product. Making your expertise visible publicly builds commercial credibility for your business, not just a personal brand. 🏃♀️ Consistency beats virality. One post a month means 6 pieces of content in 6 months. A competitor who isn't posting has zero. It compounds slowly, but it compounds, and in deep tech, that long game is exactly what you need. 🏗️ Build before you need it. The founders seeing results today started 6–12 months before their launch. By the time they were ready to sell, their audience already trusted them. Dig the well before you're thirsty. Thanks to Gavin Heaton from Disruptors Co for sharing your insights with CSIRO's Lindfield Collaboration Hub community. 🙌 Please find the link to the recording in the comments. #FounderLedMarketing #DeepTech #StartupMarketing #Lindfield

Is your science strong, but your market presence still catching up? You're not alone - and it's not a reflection of the quality of your work. It's a challenge most researchers and founders face when they step out of the lab or the building and into a commercial landscape that plays by very different rules. That's exactly what our upcoming session is designed to address. We're thrilled to be hosting Gavin Heaton - a seasoned strategist at the intersection of marketing and technology from Disruptors Co - for an honest, practical conversation about founder-led marketing and what it really takes to turn research credibility into market opportunity. *From Research Credibility to Market Opportunity: The Case for Founder-Led Marketing* In this session, Gavin will explore: 💡 Why visibility, clarity and trust matter as much as the quality of your work 💡 What founder-led marketing looks like in practice for researchers and founders 💡 How to position yourself so the right people find you, trust you, and choose you. This session is designed for researchers exploring commercialisation and founders who are ready to back their work with a stronger market presence. 📅 Wednesday 6 May 2026 🕐 12pm - 1pm 💻 Online Registration link in the comments below - we'd love to see you there.

Australia has long punched above its weight in research. The recently released SERD Review (aka “Ambitious Australia” report) makes a compelling case for what comes next: turning that strength into greater impact, productivity, and new industries. A few clear signals from the report: 💡 There’s real opportunity to lift R&D investment and better align it with national priorities. 💡 Simplifying a complex system could unlock faster pathways from idea to impact. 💡 Stronger collaboration between research and industry is key to translating capability into outcomes. None of this is entirely new, but the intent to act feels sharper. At CSIRO's Lindfield Collaboration Hub, this is exactly where we focus. When researchers, startups and industry come together around real problems, progress accelerates. Ideas don’t just stay ideas, they move toward deployment, scale and impact. That’s where the opportunity lies. The foundations are strong. The capability is here. With the right coordination and commitment, Australia is well positioned to turn great research into meaningful outcomes. We’re optimistic about what comes next. #Innovation #DeepTech #Startups #Collaboration #FutureMadeInAustralia

Lindfield Collaboration Hub reposted this
Looking forward to hearing from this impressive set of speakers, including Lindfield Collaboration Hub resident Mostafa Shabani from Movandi 🤩 📅 9 October at Stone & Chalk Scaleup Hub. Love your work Julia Ribbe and the team in supporting the AI & Edge Computing community.
Excited to be hosting the next AI & Edge Computing Meetup on 9 October at Stone & Chalk Tech Central. We'll hear three expert talks on how AI is taking shape at the edge – from extending 5G to space with Mostafa S., to reinforcement learning applied to cognitive robotics with Francisco Cruz, to machine learning on edge devices with Seifeddine Ayadi. Then we'll open the mic: a chance to share what you're building or make a quick announcement, whether in AI, hardware, or where the two meet. Come for valuable insights, stay for great conversations – and yes, pizza & drinks included. Big thanks to Stone & Chalk for hosting and to NXP Semiconductors for supporting this event. 🚨 Hot take alert 🚨 With the explosion of online learning platforms, masterclasses, and YouTube rabbit holes, here's a question worth asking: Has online learning displaced the need for face to face cohort-based programs? When you can learn anything from a world expert at 2x speed in your pyjamas, why bother joining a structured, time-boxed program with other humans? Are we clinging to the idea of peer learning, accountability and shared experience out of nostalgia, or is there still something irreplaceable about moving through a program together? Is the cohort model becoming the Blockbuster of education? Beloved, but irrelevant in the era of streaming? Or is it the only antidote to the overwhelming, isolating ocean of self-paced content? What do YOU think: 🔥 Still essential for deep learning and behaviour change? 💡 Dead model walking? Let’s hear your unfiltered take👇 #DeepTech #HardwareStartups #Accelerators #GapBlitz #StartupLife #CohortBasedLearning #HardTech #InnovationEcosystem Katie Green Leah Lucas Joanne Jacobs Gavin Heaton Shelley Laslett, MSc Alan Jones Eric Wedepohl David Kenney Jonathan (Jono) Herrman 何天赐 Ann-Mary Rajanayagam Elizabeth (Izzy) Whitelock Ted Esdaile-Watts Vanouhi Nazarian Disruptors Co

🚀 NEW RESIDENT ALERT 🚀 Minimis Technologies are building standalone AR HUD sunglasses incorporating a phone, running watch and a bike computer. Welcome to the Hub Joseph Guo, Paul Skevington and Muhammad Irfan! We're excited to be supporting you to build your next gen prototype 🙌
Straight off the plane from SFO and into our new offices at CSIRO Lindfield Collaboration Hub, with the brilliant minds that invented WiFi 😊 Special thanks to Leah Lucas, Katie Green and the wonderful CSIRO Lindfield team for providing us the space and giving us a warm welcome. CSIRO is Australia's national science agency, and people in this building are cooking up the coolest sci-fi deep tech creations. Co-located with the National Measurement Institute, Australia, this place is a giant faraday cage (no cell signal in or out), which means all the pesky cold callers won't be able to reach me /s As Minimis matures from prototype to manufacturing, this place has most of the facilities and tools we need within walking distance (though, this place is HUGE and we routinely get lost in the hallways). Onwards and upwards!
