And the winner is… Pulse Tile, taking out the MedTech Ignite Innovation Pitch Challenge last night at ACMD. In front of a packed room of more than 140 people, four strong finalists pitched ideas that showcase the continued momentum in Australian medtech. Congratulations to Pulse Tile and to Elleesha King, CEO and Founder of Pulsatile Innovations. With more than a decade on the frontline as both a paramedic and registered nurse, Elleesha understands exactly where cardiac arrest response breaks down under pressure. Pulse Tile™ is designed for that moment, a pulse-sensing device providing real-time feedback on CPR rate and depth, helping first responders make faster, more confident decisions when it matters most. As sponsors of the prize, we’re looking forward to working with Elleesha and the team, contributing $30,000 in in-kind consulting to support the next stage of development and commercialisation. Thank you also to the other finalists, Akeeko Medical®, IntoxiSense and The Joey, strong ideas, well delivered. And many thanks to the Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA), The Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery and neo-bionica for bringing the night together, along with Teneille Murray and the judges Mo Dirani, Andrew Batty, Natalie Murphy and Andrew Maxwell. A night of great conversations, tacos, music, and a packed room that didn’t want to leave.
