Fortescue has completed the acquisition of Alta Copper. 🤝 Copper is one of the world’s best electrical conductors and is essential to the technologies driving the energy transition, from solar and batteries to grid infrastructure. ⚡️ We are now the 100% owner of the Cañariaco Copper Project in northern Peru, a significant undeveloped resource within an emerging porphyry copper corridor. As Agustin Pichot, CEO of Fortescue Growth and Energy, said: “Copper is a core pillar of Fortescue’s growth and diversification strategy. The Pilbara sun is about to power something bigger. ☀️ At 440MW, the Solomon Airport solar farm will become Western Australia’s largest solar farm, more than doubling our solar capacity and generating enough power for approximately 150,000 typical homes. Together with wind, battery storage, and transmission infrastructure, we’re building the 24/7 renewable power to replace diesel in our operations. This is Real Zero in motion. ⚡️
