This is a key leadership role where you’ll guide a talented group of engineers, oversee project delivery from design through to certification, and help shape the future of our engineering capability. Working across residential and light commercial projects nationwide, you’ll play a hands-on role in delivering practical, efficient and cost-effective structural solutions. In today’s tech-first world, in-person communication behaviours have taken a hit. That’s why, with the help of a coach, we’ve turned our fortnightly Afternoon Teas into a friendly game where we challenge ourselves to a number of communication skills. Recently we’ve been focusing on holding steady eye contact, reducing filler words, and landing clear, succinct points. It’s light-hearted, practical, and already lifting confidence in client check-ins and team huddles. We’ll even test our skills in a coach-led challenge in Jan/Feb 2026. Thanks to a little coaching and a lot of good humour, we’re proving that small habits compound. Here’s to conversations that are clear, confident and kind, around the table and on-site.

This year we introduced structured one-on-one reviews across EDC. The result? Enlightening. By creating space to listen, we uncovered skills, ideas and process improvements that were hiding in plain sight. Several of these insights will be implemented across the business in 2026 to sharpen efficiency, reduce waste, and lift turnaround times—especially within our residential, modular and cold-formed steel workflows. We’ve opened our second office in Melbourne, VIC—and it wasn’t about a postcode; it was about our clients. For years, we’ve delivered nationally, but demand in VIC and SA for on-the-ground support kept growing. Now, site inspections are faster, face-to-face meetings are easier, and our communication loop is even tighter. Ali and the team are frequently in the field, and several of our staff have recently completed their construction induction (White Card) training to further streamline site access and safety. This move strengthens what EDC does best: efficient, cost-effective structural design for residential, modular, and light commercial projects—backed by local presence when it matters.
