At Jebel Ali, one of the world’s busiest container ports, port electrification is becoming operational at scale across cargo handling equipment and the wider terminal ecosystem. Our programme combines electrified container handling equipment with battery-electric trucks supporting inter-terminal flows across the port. A key part of that progress has been our approach. By combining in-house retrofit capabilities with OEM partnerships, we’ve been able to reduce deployment timelines while improving cost efficiency across the programme. When seasonal demand for pharmaceutical exports increased, we expanded reefer rail capacity between Hyderabad Inland Terminal and Nhava Sheva. This helped keep temperature-sensitive cargo moving to the USA and Australia. By increasing service frequency at the right time, we maintained cold chain integrity and kept critical cargo moving reliably and sustainably. In pharmaceutical logistics, consistency matters just as much as speed. Learn how our rail and inland terminals support resilient supply chains across India: https://lnkd.in/evZ8PmCu

The way goods move around the world is changing, as global trade becomes more regional, more interconnected and increasingly shaped by disruption. Sourcing and production are shifting closer to end markets, with the average distance between trading partners declining by around 7% since 2017. But while distances are shortening, complexity is increasing. Disruption, from geopolitics to congestion to climate, is exposing the limits of traditional port-to-port models. In response to these pressures, supply chains are moving beyond linear models towards connected, multimodal networks that integrate sea, rail and road. Our latest whitepaper explores what this shift means for global trade and how supply chains can adapt. Download the full whitepaper: https://lnkd.in/evR9y5sA
