We're at FWD Fest this Wednesday as an event partner and we'll have a stand there all day. If you're attending, come past and have a chat with Bart. We'll have AI Readiness Assessments on the table. It's a one-page tool that maps where AI can save your business time and money. Take one whether you stop for a conversation or not. As a 2025 Sunshine Coast Business Award Winner and Queensland Government AI Mentor - Mentoring for Growth Program, we spend a lot of time cutting through the noise on AI. FWD Fest is a good room for that kind of conversation. See you Wednesday. Get your tickets at https://www.fwdfest.co/ #SunshineCoast #FWDFest #AIinBusiness #SunshineCoastBusiness #AI #BlueSeasAI

Our BDM Matthew (Maciej) Puszko was at the SCBA2026 Small Business Month Breakfast last week - and the conversation that cut through was one we've been having with businesses on the Coast for two years. Expertly MC'd by Andrew Fairbairn, we also heard from Jason Law (Regional Development Australia), Councillor Terry Landsberg and Noosa Mayor Frank Wilkie. Warren Hogan (Judo Bank) who was keynote speaker said it plainly: labour shortages are structural, not cyclical. Demographics are locked in. The fix is technology that handles the repeatable work so the people you have can focus on what actually needs them. A knowledgeable panel spoke about issues affecting the current business community: Tim Kelly from the Manufacturing Excellence Forum discussed technology. How AI combined with humanoid robotics is 3 to 5 years away, not 15. For 1,500 manufacturers on the Sunshine Coast generating $1.6B in exports - that's not a future problem. It's a now problem. This is exactly what we build at Blue Seas AI. AI employees that handle the repeatable work so your team can focus on what actually needs them. Teneille Newton (Noosa Black Garlic - Winners of SCBA 2025) discussed how to value add and Jonny Giles (Founder of The Beach Bars) about the importance of people management in every economy. Bart Puszko and the Team at Blue Seas AI were proud winners of last year's Sunshine Coast Business Awards in the category of Advanced Technology. Seeing the broader business community arrive at the same conversation - that's a good sign for the region. SCBA2026 nominations are open, including a new Corporate Community Champion category launched by Jennifer Swaine at the breakfast. Many thanks to Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast Inc. for sponsoring the event. #SCBA2026 #SunshineCoast #SmallBusinessMonth #AI #BlueSeasAI #TeamSunshineCoast

This Wednesday. Free. Buderim Tavern. 5:30 PM. Most business owners we talk to know they should be doing something with AI. They just don't know what to do first. Find the one task worth automating first. Leave with a clear first move, not a list of tools to Google later. Straight talk from a Queensland Government AI Mentor and 2025 Sunshine Coast Business Award winner. It's free. It's local. Come along. Grab your spot: https://lnkd.in/gR56-XuZ Wednesday 6 May | 5:30 PM | Buderim Tavern #SunshineCoast #AI #LocalNetworkingNights #AIAmplifier #SmallBusiness #Buderim #BlueSeasAI https://lnkd.in/gR56-XuZ
Most businesses are using AI on personal accounts, copying and pasting answers, and wondering why nothing's really changed. That's Level 1. Most people are stuck there. On Wednesday 6 May, I'm running a free AI Amplifier Masterclass at Buderim Tavern as part of Local Networking Nights Sunshine Coast (formerly LinkedIn Local). It's a practical session. You'll score your own business live using the Amplifier Test, work out which tasks are eating your week, and leave with a clear starting point. As a Queensland Government AI Mentor and 2025 Sunshine Coast Business Award winner, I've sat with enough business owners to know the problem isn't a lack of AI tools. It's knowing which one task is worth doing first. Our team was at the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Procurement Event on the Sunshine Coast yesterday. 600 businesses. 300 on the waiting list. The biggest event of its kind in the state. We heard from Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie MP, Tim Mander MP (Minister for Sport and Racing, Minister for Olympic and Paralympic Games), Steve Minnikin MP (Minister for Customer Services and Open Data, Minister for Small and Family Business), Kendall Hatcher MP, Mayor Rosanna Natoli, Robert McRuvie (Director of Procurement for Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee), Debra Robinson (Sunshine Coast Council - Director of Sustainable Growth and Planning), Alister Eiseman (President of the Kawana Chamber of Commerce), Genevieve De Michele (TMR, Project Director, The Wave - Rail), Matthias Schlotterbach (TMR, Program Director, The Wave Stage 3 - Metro). Three things stood out for us: AI is officially part of the Games strategy. Robert McRuvie confirmed they're developing AI systems for workforce screening. Steve Minnikin MP said "Peak AI will be the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games." AI-powered security, walkthrough screening, digital passports - it's all on the table. $2.5 billion in procurement contracts are coming through Brisbane 2032. Paris saw 80% of contracts go to local small and medium businesses. That's the benchmark they're targeting here. Businesses need to start preparing now. Rob was direct - half of all tenders he receives get dismissed because they don't answer the question properly. His advice: do a tendering workshop before you submit anything. The Sunshine Coast is about to see the biggest wave of infrastructure investment in its history. Rail, metro, stadium, arena, athletes village, mountain bike centre. Billions of dollars. And every one of those projects needs businesses that have their systems sorted, their operations running efficiently, and their teams ready to scale. That's what we do. We help businesses cut the admin so they can focus on the work that actually matters. If you're a Sunshine Coast business getting ready for 2032, start with the basics: register on the ICN Gateway (see attached photo), get your tendering capability up, and make sure your operations can handle the volume when it comes. #Brisbane2032 #SunshineCoast #SmallBusiness #Olympics #Queensland #BlueSeasAI

Lest we forget. Today we slow down and remember. The Anzacs weren't extraordinary in the beginning - they were ordinary Australians and New Zealanders, many of them barely adults, who faced something most of us can't fully imagine and they showed up anyway. That kind of sacrifice deserves more than a moment's thought. It deserves real respect, every single year. To every veteran, every serving member, and every family carrying that history - thank you. Lest we forget. From the Blue Seas AI team - Lest we forget. #AnzacDay #LestWeForget #Australia #SunshineCoast

Bart is presenting at LinkedIn Local Sunshine Coast on the 6th of May. Free event at Buderim Tavern - details below.
Most small businesses don't have an AI problem. They have a process problem. I was sitting with a business owner last month who'd tried three different AI tools. None of them worked. She was ready to write off AI entirely. We spent 20 minutes looking at how her team actually worked. One broken process was eating four hours a week. We fixed that first, then brought AI in. Same tools she'd already tried. Completely different result. AI amplifies what's already there. If the process is solid, AI makes it faster. If it's broken, AI just makes a mess faster. I'm unpacking this at LinkedIn Local Sunshine Coast next Wednesday - what actually needs to be in place before AI can help, and how to find it in your own business in about 10 minutes. Free. Buderim Tavern. Wednesday 6 May, 5:30 PM. Link in the comments. #SunshineCoast #AI #SmallBusiness #LinkedInLocal

We're now listed on the National AI Centre's AI Directory, supported by Department of Industry, Science and Resources. The directory is a platform showcasing Australia's AI capabilities across industries and technologies - connecting businesses, researchers, and innovators working in AI, and supporting the growth of a strong, collaborative AI ecosystem in Australia. We started Blue Seas AI on one principle: only recommend AI when the ROI stacks up. No hype. No overcomplicated builds. Just systems that work for real businesses. Being listed means Australian businesses - law firms, accountants, consultants - looking for AI providers can now find us through a central, easy-to-use platform. If your business is looking to connect with Australian AI providers, the directory is worth exploring. Explore the directory: https://lnkd.in/gstfmmn7 Thank you to every client, masterclass attendee, and referral partner who has been part of the journey. Most businesses don't have a knowledge gap. They have a bandwidth gap. A client of ours was invited to speak on a local roundtable about workplace technology trends. Not their core area. One afternoon to prepare. We walked them through a three-tool stack: Perplexity - researched the topic with cited, current sources. Half an hour instead of a day of browser tabs. NotebookLM - found a relevant podcast they didn't have time to listen to, pasted the URL in, had a solid synthesis back in minutes. Gamma - turned their key points into a clean one-page brief for the room. No design time. Under an hour total. They walked in informed, contributed well, left with three solid follow-up conversations. A question we get often: why not just use Claude? Honest answer: we use Claude extensively. It's the backbone of most systems we build for clients. But Perplexity is purpose-built for real-time cited research and does it more reliably than Claude's general-purpose search. Claude can't synthesise from a podcast or YouTube URL natively, and doesn't output finished visual materials. These three tools fill specific gaps Claude wasn't designed to prioritise. Some tools are just Claude with a nicer wrapper. These three aren't. Right tool, right job. That's always the test. What's your team's current research and prep process costing you each week? #AIforBusiness #BusinessProductivity #SunshineCoastBusiness #ProfessionalServices #BlueSeasAI

AI doesn't fix broken processes. It accelerates them. We see it constantly. A business spends weeks selecting a tool, pays for the subscription, and three months later wonders why nothing's improved. The tool wasn't the problem. The workflow underneath it was. Bolting AI onto a broken process is like learning basic chords and being asked to play Sweet Child O' Mine in front of 100,000 people. The amplifier didn't cause the problem. It just made it louder. Before you touch any AI tool, run what we call the Amplifier Test. Ask yourself honestly: if I made this process ten times faster, would that be a good thing? If the answer's no - if the process is clunky, inconsistent, or just shouldn't exist - fix that first. Great process plus AI means faster and better. Broken process plus AI means faster mess. The technology doesn't care either way. Start with one workflow. Map it out. Tighten it up. Then layer AI on top and watch it actually work. Curious where the real bottlenecks are in your business? Happy to have an honest conversation about it. #AI #BusinessStrategy #OperationalEfficiency #SunshineCoast #Leadership #BlueSeasAI

Most businesses using AI are stuck at Level 1. ChatGPT on a few laptops. Maybe some prompts they've saved. Staff using personal accounts with client data they probably shouldn't be sharing. It feels like progress. It isn't. Level 1 means you're still pushing every button. You're faster at some tasks. Nothing about how your business actually runs has changed. Level 3 is different. Autonomous systems that watch, process, and act while you sleep. One recruitment firm we worked with went from a 10-hour weekly lead gen workflow to 1.25 hours. A law firm recovered $872K in annual productivity. Not projections - running numbers, audited monthly. Most businesses never get there. Not because the technology isn't ready. Because their processes aren't. Before any business invests in AI, the question that actually matters is: "are our systems and processes ready to be amplified?" Solid foundation + AI = amplified results. Broken foundation + AI = amplified chaos. Bart - who's been mentoring businesses through the QLD Government AI program since 2024 - is running a workshop on the Sunshine Coast specifically to answer that question. Practical, no sales pitch. Just an honest look at AI readiness and what needs to happen before you spend a dollar on tools. Event details in the first comment. #SunshineCoast #AI #AIReadiness #BusinessGrowth #ProfessionalServices
