  • Beyond Blue believes that everyone in Australia should be able to get the help that is right for them when they need it. Unfortunately, that's not the experience for a lot of people, including many First Nations Peoples. That's why Beyond Blue is a member of Allies for Uluru and has supported Closing the Gap for over 10 years. We also have a First Nations Council made up of First Nations Leaders who guide and offer strategic and cultural advice and leadership to the work that that we do. This National Reconciliation week, we're supporting Reconciliation Australia. Things need to be better, and that won't happen without action. All of us can take our own actions to show our commitment to a fairer future for all people living in Australia. 🖊️Take action at your workplace ▪️ Share this tile on your feed ▪️ Share resources with colleagues ▪️ Move beyond words through a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Link in comments for more information and resources.

  • Feeling a sense of anxiety and dread in the lead-up to work can be a normal response to work stress. It could also be a sign of something more serious. Learn more about how to cope with advice from expert psychologist Dr Luke Martin: 👉Reflect on what is causing your anxiety about work. Is it a work problem, a values clash, or part of a broader mental health issue? Deeper reflection on what’s driving it will influence how you need to manage it. 👉Disrupt the rumination by asking yourself - what problem exists right now in this moment? Sometimes our mind tries to solve problems that haven’t actually happened yet. If you need support, Beyond Blue is available 24/7.

Vale the Hon. Rob Knowles AO. Rob cared deeply about reducing the impact of poor mental health and suicide on families and communities. He drew on decades of public service, while remaining grounded by his life as a farmer, father and grandfather. His leadership, counsel, compassion and quiet steadiness will be greatly missed. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Rob’s wife Carmel, his children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. Thank you, Rob, for your leadership and a lasting contribution to mental health in Australia.
