In story mode, this fearsome foe has us nervously eyeing our health bar. Recruit him as a hero, though, and his withering axe swing weakens even the strongest bosses. If you find him guarding a mercenary camp, rest assured he won’t fight at all—he’ll just chat you up and offer you free arrows.

An adorable but powerful pet, Little Elle wallops your enemies with her trunk every three rounds, dealing massive damage. But she’s also a fierce protector, healing you for up to 110 percent of your attack stat, so you can stick around long enough to watch her clobber foes. Thanks, buddy!
