This gorgeous digital board game couldn’t be any simpler to learn, but true mastery lies at the end of a long and winding path. As fans of Tsuro’s tabletop incarnation, we love how faithfully—and beautifully—the experience is re-created here. App-exclusive ways to play add new layers of depth, letting us get lost for hours among these tricky, twisty trails.

...as soon as I saw the board. What a nice change of pace from my addiction to candy crush. The zen music is calming and perfect. I usually turn off game music, but not with Tsuro. Pay attention to the hints before you turn them off. There are several modes of playing: last player on board, most loops, longest path. You can play with 1 to 3 AI players by dragging stones to the squares marked Silly, Clever and Tricky. By dragging additional stones to the board you can use the cool pass 'n' play feature. You can name the players and have them take selfies for easy identification. If you add friends in Game Center all you can do at this time is issue challenges: Master Loopers or Path Builders. You'll want Facebook friends to actually play. I read some are complaining about that and yes it takes a few extra steps but you can find friends for the game. Tsuro Friends on Facebook was started to help players connect. Yes there are some limitations and some things I hope are addressed in future releases like not being able to switch away from solo play to make a move with an opponent and allowing the board to switch between a 3D and 2D view but I have faith the developers will nurture their creation. Spend more than 5 minutes exploring Tsuro and you will find "the game of the path" worthy.

  • Title update: Much much better than dumb games you should avoid

First few times you play, it is very enjoyable but it gets boring after you start beating the "AI" all the time. Fun could last longer if "AI" was more "I"... It may be more fun to play with real people but I'd buy the real board game for that.Update: I tried all 8 [tricky] of them... 😜 still I think it needs more "I"... I will add the remaining two stars but... it'd be nice if the clarity of the board near the far end/corners could be improved; it may get a bit too crowded to see the lines on smaller screens (IPhone 6s) and finally the bubbles that pop before/after each move and cover the board/tiles are annoying... maybe move the board a tiny bit to the right where the piles of tiles are placed and also rotate CW. In fact I don't think that that much space is needed for those piles, they can be placed further away toward the right edge of screen and the size can be scaled down. In general, very good job and thank you for making a very good strategy game available...

So, I downloaded this game with mediocre expectations. Mostly because I wasn't that into board games. I was pleasantly surprised. It was interesting and creative. I would like to propose a change though. It would really make it more fun if there was a "suicide" option. I know that sounds morbid but hear me out. It would add a whole new type of strategy if you could kill yourself on accident. Also if there was no giant warning symbol under a card that would kill you. Another thing that would be cool was that if hitting your opponent would be allowed and just ended in a draw. Pretty much what I'm asking would be to not limit the cards that you are allowed to play by the outcome. I think that it's the player's job to decide if a card would hurt/help them and not the game. I am impressed if you made it this far! If you just scrolled through everything without reading it, for shame. Hope people see this, BYE!

  • Facebook shenanigans

My Tsuro app was once connected to my Facebook account. When I closed my Facebook account for good (gasp!), I was unable to play Tsuro - I would try to load the app and the Facebook login screen would appear. I’d choose, “not now” and I would be booted from the app, denied access to Tsuro. I was mad. I searched the reviews for answers- nothing. I emailed support... Finally, I stumbled upon the fix. After various attempts to bypass my old ties to FB, I went nuclear. I deleted the app. Deleting the app and the associated data, then reinstalling was the only solution that I could find to fix this issue. When prompted to connect and play with friends on my Facebook account, I chose ‘hell no’ or whatever it is that means no. Now I can play Tsuro again, sans Facebook. That pleases me. If you’re having the same issue, this review’s for you. Four stars because Facebook shenanigans

I love this game because even if I make a mistake I don't see myself upset, ever. The nature of the game is so relaxing, sometimes I play it to just take my mind off of things. However if I may suggest something, I would love to see a mode where I can verse people online other than through FB or my contacts... where the game searches for opponents and once there are 7 other players the game starts. Even easier, just 4 players for that mode would be fun. There could be a leaderboards section where it shows the longest/most loop scores for the day, week, or month, other than looking in the Game Center. Thanks for the simplicity of this game though, apologies if my suggestions are unnecessary 😅 By far one of my favorite games in the App Store to date.

  • Facebook required = no online play -> updated

So as per the developer, Game Center online play is now available, and my rating has been doubled. A year is a long time, so we'll have to see if we'll get back into Tsuro, but it's certainly great for anybody joining the party more recently. It's a fun board game, a great adaptation esp. with the updated online play options. The developer deserves credit for supporting & improving their game, something that quite a few developers don't really do.And for the current cost of free, it is excellent value. It is a full, well-developed self-contained game with none of the annoying F2P monetization that plagues a lot of the "free" games available on the App Store. Hey, it was even worth the actual price to me and many other people, and with the new online play options, the more, the merrier.--- Original review below for the record ~1 year ago ---The title says it all. Releasing an iOS app that ONLY works with the gross privacy invasion that is Facebook should be a 1-star rating, but since it's potentially nice I reluctantly raised it to 2.The most bizarre thing is that the Game Center login came up when I launched the game?!? Even if I was willing to have FB track my pastimes, I have friends who'd play this game but will never in their life sign up with FB, and most certainly not to play some game...Having the -option- to use FB (perhaps to enable future cross-platform online play) is not the issue, it is NOT having the option to use the standard iOS Game Center as an alternative. Should that be rectified, my rating will certainly increase noticeably, since for now it has turned out to be just a solo game with the rare pass'n'play.

Thanks for your feedback! You can invite your friends to play through Game Centre, as we appreciate not everyone wants to play through Facebook! We also have a few AIs for you to play against - check the FAQ for a how-to! http://thunderboxentertainment.com/tsurofaq/ Have fun!
