I always wanted to take drawing classes, but adulthood comes with lots of responsibilities and lack of time. Skillshare allows me to take quality lessons on my time from the comfort of home. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the classes and the response from the teachers and fellow students. Skillshare har become my new community. It keeps me motivated to learn and practice.

  • Creativity in my pocket!

I’ve been a Skillshare member and teacher for years now. I absolutely love it! The app flows nicely and I have no issues with it. The latest improvements make it even better! What’s not to love about having such a diverse learning tool in your pocket?! Great Inspiration and education at your fingertips with this app.

  • I love this app, but….

I just wish the app would be more affordable. I am on permanent disability and had my foot amputated, so my income is fixed and with all my medical bills it s almost impossible to find the funds to pay for this app every month and have the benefits from the artists in here. The new feature for artists to now sell there products in here makes it unachievable to complete some classes because the tools now are no longer free for certain classes. Sometimes, it just feels like it would never be achievable for someone like me, as I am sure there are more like me out there. But, despite that I do totally love this app.

  • Something Broke

Skillshare was awesome a few years ago. Now it feels like they’ve gone AI and everything is broken and completely out of touch. My recommended classes have nothing to do with my interests that I specifically gave them. I’m here for art, but every recommendation for the past 6 months has been how to make things with AI. Their emails are broken or illegible, I’ve brought this to their attention with screenshots and nothing has changed. When I search for classes such as, “draw realistic facial features” I get top search results on how to paint watercolor flowers. I’ve taken some great drawing classes but the newer ones don’t teach and the classes are way shorter. For instance, I took a four hour class on how to draw lips with realism. Newer classes are sped up to be 41 minutes long and don’t teach you anything. You just watch someone’s sped up drawing and cut out parts you need to see. I’m saddened by the cheapness of Skillshare and wish they’d fix the broken bits. They need to add more classes that are real and useful.

  • You can never learn to much in life.

Learning is great for the brain and keeps you healthy too. This SKILLSHARE app is fantastic. It’s a little extra creative learning when ever you want it. Right now during our C-19 crisis this is the perfect time to schedule one in a day...or even two or three. LoL.That’s what I do and I have gained some really great knowledge. Sharped up my drawing skills in some of my week areas...which helped me out a lot and I was very impressed and thankful for. Learned great self drawn character building with different apps...one basic character drawing class based on basic shapes-CIRCLE*SQUARE*TRIANGLE and thee emotions each shape holds. Made building characters 100% easier knowing if your character was going to be bad, powerful, happy, or even confused ...the shapes invented the character. Even looking at cartoons or comic book characters the shapes speak for the bad guys right away.. I also learned VISUAL JOURNALING...which is a whole new world for me, new watercolour techniques, taking better photos with my phone, Chinese etegami painting, street drawing (building), interior design on vintage finds, Linocut Workshop, etc...etc... My list goes on and on. I do recommend this to everyone. They have something for all. I am having a lot of fun with it and how seriously involved I got. I look forward to my SKILLSHARE class daily. I. JUST LOVE IT AND SO WILL YOU. ENJOY AND HAVE FUN...BE SAFE...PEACE

  • Skillshare is awesome but the app is severely lacking

I love Skillshare’s service and recommend it 100%. There is so much great content available and I have learned a lot. However, this app is hot garbage. There’s a lot of functionality on the website that is completely missing from the app, such as being able to access class resources. One thing that’s missing that really irritates me is the My Lists feature. On the website, you can organize your saved classes into lists, but you can’t add classes to your lists from inside the app. There are also lots of UI bugs and/or poor design choices. For instance, if you go to an instructor’s page within the app, it doesn’t actually list all the classes they have available. The only way to see all the instructor’s classes is to put their name in the search bar and scroll through the results there. Another irritating thing I’ve noticed is that if you’re watching a class in full screen and it ends, there’s no way to exit full screen without making the class play again. It’s a small thing, but the app is full of these odd little annoyances. The Chromecast function is also buggy and doesn’t always work well. I put up with the app because I love what Skillshare offers, but it could use a lot of improvements. The website isn’t perfect either (I hate that you can’t visit a class page without it autoplaying), but it’s much better than the app.
