Glad Word is on visionOS on day one. This app works well. I’m not sure if anyone will read this, but I have a few small points of feedback based on my experiences so far.In many of the categories at the top when editing a document (home, insert, layout, etc.), the buttons within are unlabeled. It seems clear that there isn’t enough space in the UI for labels, so it makes sense that they’re absent. It would be helpful to give more details (just the name/function of the button would be great) that appear when I look at a button for more than a second. The review tab is, in my opinion, where this is needed most, since many of the buttons do more complex functions that can’t be captured by a simple icon.Double-tapping on a word in-text highlights the entire paragraph rather than just that word. That doesn’t align with iOS, iPadOS, or desktop versions, which creates a frustrating inconsistency in behavior. Quickly selecting a word is, in my use case, a far more useful and frequented function. While this is more tangential to Word, a visionOS app for OneDrive would be great. Or even let me use the iPhone or iPad version. In order to add OneDrive as a storage location in the Files app on Apple devices, the respective app must be installed and signed in. As it currently stands, there is no way for me to browse all of my files like I can on other platforms unless I want to use the web client.I will continue using this app, as it works really well in it’s current form. And I will gladly update my review to 5 stars as it continues to improve! Thanks.
Unable to insert new comments in a shared document (immediately crashes), and unable to view ANY comments in a shared document (selecting the comment, or using the next/previous comment buttons… all fail with a “there are comments but not here” unhelpful error message). Please fix it ASAP. Thank you.
Microsoft Word on the Apple Vision Pro has a major usability issue right now. The app works fine with the pinch-to-type keyboard, but the moment I try to use my Magic Keyboard, Word consistently crashes—especially when I press Return or paste anything. I’ve restarted the device, reinstalled the app, reset keyboard settings, turned off dictation, changed layouts, and tried every recommended fix. Nothing solves it.This makes Word practically unusable for anyone who wants to type normally on Vision Pro. Other apps work fine with the Magic Keyboard, so this seems to be a Word-specific bug. It’s been incredibly frustrating, and I hope Microsoft addresses this issue quickly, because the Vision Pro is one of the best platforms for writing—when the app doesn’t crash.Until this is fixed, Word on Vision Pro just isn’t reliable for real work.
This app automatically connects your OneDrive to your Vision Pro and you cannot disable it. Since OneDrive uses your data for personalization and ads., there is effectively no way of opting out your Vision Pro from being included on your profile that Microsoft makes about you. I do not want to use OneDrive and I am being forced to surrender data to Microsoft while trying to use a separate but unrelated service which is Microsoft Word.. this is unlawful tying and a deceptive dark pattern
App frequently crashes, especially when copy and pasting large amounts of text. Worst bug is that you can’t use a cursor to drag and select text when using a mouse or trackpad. Often freezes up. Just terrible all around.
On Word on Apple Vision Pro I get this error: "READ ONLY - This is an older file format. To make changes, make a copy of the file in the new format." I tried contacting Microsoft, and they have no support options for the Apple Vision Pro.
I use word software side by side with safari for productivity. When I am typing on Safari, word file keeps crashing. I hope this bug gets fixed soon!
I wanted to like this app on the Vision Pro, but unfortunately the app won’t open at all.
Please fix
