  • Pretty nice

    Appesque

Only issues are the lines on the editor look a little out of plac on the Mac. The lines on the side don't use tones of color like this review box does, it doesn't have a harsh outline. And why... why... is the tab view open, when there is only one tab, and no way to make more? Just make it without tabs until more things are opened. That last one kind of odd... out of place again on macOS.Otherwise, I think it's a pretty solid app and good value,.

  • Does not break your Default App Extension settings (Updated)

    DaveOnTheRoad

As others have noted, Textastic appears to override your macOS default app settings for some files, i.e., GetInfo and Always Open With options don’t seem to work. On macOS this occurs when the file is stored in the Textastic iCloud folder and is a macOS/iCloud instituted behavior, not something done by Textastic. Since this is not a Textastic issue and the app is otherwise excellent - no reason not to give this app five stars. Thank you to the developer Alexander for his support in very quickly identifying the concern.

  • Good but needs a compiler for multiple languages

I love textastic and what would make it so much better is if it had a complie feature like coderunner! Please make it happen :)

  • Six stars if I could!

The best text editor for your iPhone or iPad hands down. Plenty of features, plenty of customization, great UI, has been in development for years by a responsive developer. What more can you ask for? Pro is well worth every penny paid.

  • No feature additions and less features than on iOS version.

    YesImHereToHelp

The developer absolutely refuses to improve the Textastic user experience, insisting that it would be "dangerous" to allow uploading multiple files without confirmation. Yet, if it was "dangerous", Textastic would have features that show you exactly what is being replaced, but it doesn't since it's an all-or-nothing confirmation dialogue.

  • Amazing

It'd be very wonderful to have folding option. Other than that it's my preferred edit text as it sync flawlessly with my phone and ipad. I thing it's the only app that have such feature. Keep the good job

  • Must have

    CaramelBeard

This is a first-day install for any new Mac or iOS device I buy. Great for hammering out scripts or working on larger projects.Just an all-around stellar product.

  • Edit=>Find Randomly Disabled

    AutisticCrowComputer

Works for the most part like a text editor.Aggravating bug is the Edit=>Find menu is disabled much of the time. Have to close and restart the app to get these enabled. The Find functionality for coding is mandatory, so this flaw is a major one. Also logging a negative star review of Apple app management for disabling a perfectly functioning Atom app on my computer merely because it's support/dev team had sunsetted the app. This was a reason to sunset my son's Macbook and get a new Linux laptop so he could use Atom. Atom being blocked by led to me buying this less functional and more costly Textastic app.

  • Fast

    Brad Barrows

Great load timeHandles large filesNo bloatProbably my goto when my laptop is lagging and I have to open some massive log files

  • No warning when files are auto saved

    Old_man643

Not using anymore because there is not option to warn you before saving a file, in case it was a mistake.

  • Disappointing compared to iOS Version

    Drag0nSilver

It's not that it's *bad*, exactly, but I'm disappointed that the Mac version doesn't support: Show Invisible characters. Only tabs? Automatic theme change to match system theme. I'd like the theme to change to dark at sunset, like the rest of my system and apps. A way to reload a text that I darn well *know* I edited with a different app on a different system.Seriously, the iOS version is more capable than Mac? Not cool, folks.

  • New new favorite text editor, nice dark mode!
