I learned just today about Alison Online Education App! I have worked in the medical field for several years which focused on billing and follow-up. I was actually let go from my previous employer and this is great! Other than submitting my resume to companies that receive many, I will be allowing time each day to up my skills. I’m liking it!

I have got to say this has got to the the absolute best app I have ever used. I have tried many others and I have got to say this is one that keeps me glued to the screen. It’s not super boring and I can access my classes on my tablet while I’m away doing other stuff and listen through my car speaker. The words are easy to understand and I appreciate whomever decided this was a good app. I like the fact I can take several different classes studying the same subject and I didn’t even need my high school diploma. (Which I am working on). I also like the pictures that describe the areas I’d the brain the function and the description. I’m taking a psychiatric and psychological classes just looking to understand people’s thought processes and the functions. It’s fantastic that’s all I gotta say!

Every time you click on anything in the app there is an ad. So far for my experience 90% or more of these ads are a video with a small “close” to the top left when done. The close is a lie. The ad will never go away, even if you click to get the app in the ad you go back to a practically frozen app where you can’t even get to the class because the ad will just pop up again when you try. I have not even gotten to start a class due to this. And for each enroll I had to close the app to even loo at anything else because an ad that won’t go away pops up then too… horrible UI and QA team for this app if this is the best that can be done.

I loved this app. I really did at first. But then by my third or fourth class, the audio completely stopped working and there is no support anywhere online or otherwise to address the issue of no audio. I’ve done all the standard troubleshooting steps on two devices, but it won’t fix and all my other apps audio are working fine. As a last resort, I contact Alison customer service and after spending quite some time with them going back-and-forth, they transfer me to someone who can “help” for a refundable five dollar fee. No problem I think. Totally worth it I think but then my credit card gets hit for $60 fee that occurs every single month!!!!!!! My bank called me and told me it was a scam. Between my bank and I it took a long time to unravel my account getting hit with $60 a month for nothing. And guess what? The agent offered NO solution after going through about 20 steps with me. The agent was a third-party service and said the problem is with Alison. So back I go to Alison customer service. No solution offered or even any tips or tricks after initially asking for my email (probably to scam me again). I’m sorry I provided my email address to them. Now I’m worried and still have no audio. To summarize, if they offer to transfer you to an agent for any kind of problem, don’t let them do it as they will scam you. Secondly, while it’s good to offer a free service, taking money from people in a sly and sneaky way to make up for it is not a good way to do business. Lastly and certainly not least, customer service troubleshooting has a lot of room for improvement.

For free, i cant complain! easy to follow modules and testing to get your certification, which does come at a cost!!! depending on how you want it, youre looking at a little over $25 to a little under $100 to get it. that is PER course certification. I dont know how credible these are yet, but its nice to have to show you did something at least. only thing i didnt like was how particular you have to make your answers or they mark it wrong. so be warned! i used "anti-freeze" instead of "antifreeze" and got marked wrong for it. that and i wish the coverage of courses covered more per topic so the price of getting these certs wasnt going to break me after completing all i intend to. bright side is it makes for a short course and test to have to do so if you only need it for some specific parts in a career, then its perfect without having to do everything else you dont need with it, as well.
