I love this game! I am an Animal Crossing fan and this is similar in alot of ways. I've been playing this for a couple months now before I did a review. There are little bugs/glitches that come up but they are pretty quick to send out an update to fix the issues. It does seem like they pay attention to reviews and what people are saying because they take care of the major complaints often. I love relaxing before bed and playing. I also love that I can connect my Xbox remote and play on my MacBook! I recommend playing that way if you can. Small things like a couple more cabins in resort area would be nice. I have to move the neighbors who have moved in so that the visitors who require to be in the resort can come visit. lack of strawberry crates, cinnamon, and a couple other items does sometimes get a little irritating. I've also opened all the coral chests but still get coral keys. I also get WAY TO MANY dye pouches. I really don't use or want them and have a ton. Maybe being able to sell items like the dye pouches for currency would be nice so then we could get the items we do need/want. Overall, GREAT job on this game!! I wish there were more games like this available on Apple. I will absolutley be a long time fan!
My expectations were surpassed! This game has absolutely everything. From open-world adventure, to relaxing tasks like fishing and catching bugs, to discovering a lot of amazing new spots, and the things to do/missions/quests never stop, and each one is more interesting than the one before. The Sanrio characters are simply adorable and so fun to interact with 🥺 Keroppi and Badtz-Maru are my faves so far. Honestly, just thinking about playing makes me all excited so this definitely is a game that should be played. You won't regret it, and the best thing is that we can keep expecting more updates. So yes, I am so happy to be able and play this, and can't wait for my character to have a mermaid tail 😂
I played this game daily, sometimes for hours, for the first 2 weeks it was out. There was a never ending amount of quests to do, critters to find, places to explore. However, I'm at a point now where the game has become more of a chore of daily "to-dos" with very little pay off. Leveling up characters is impossibly hard once they get past a certain level. The items you need to give them (3 or 4 heart items) require resources that are IMPOSSIBLE to find. Cinna-bloom and coral milk seem to be the hardest to come by. In a one week time period where I played for 2 hours a day I was able to gather only 3 of each. They simply ARE NOT SPAWNING daily. Additionally, the crafting sequence needs to be updated to make it faster or allow for multiple items to be crafted at once. The time it takes me to make three "3 heart" gifts when I have all the base level ingredients is at least 10 minutes. And I have to do that for 17 chracters daily to make sure I'm leveling up those friendships! (With the new update there are even more characters to craft gifts for!) That's over 170 minutes daily game time (that's nearly 3 hours) just for gathering/crafting. I'm not asking for super fast friendship gains, but you have got to make some of these processes easier to accomplish.
I just started playing this game a few days ago and enjoy it very much. However, there are a few annoying problems; 1. when playing on a macbook/non-touchscreen laptop, you cannot move around using the keyboard, and only with the trackpad or mouse, which is really annoying. 2. the way your character jumps is really annoying because you don't jump very high, and when you try to run and jump, it is very clunky and short. There was this one cave where you had to jump on blocks towards a surface, and I spent 10 minutes falling off the blocks because my character could not jump far enough :( also when I was playing the game where you had to collect flowers I couldn't jump across the obstacles because my jumps were way too short :((((((( but it's a cute game nonetheless!
They need to consider letting players use a built in character in the game as an option for a "fill in" for multi-player aspects of this game. When you are someone who is the only one who plays in a home enviroment and do not have friends or family who PAY for apple aracde its makes it difficult to complete the "full game" and then end up stuck in certain tasks to complete. Not suggesting to do away with mult player just asking for another "option" for a fill in so we can continue the journey and not feel "stuck" and not be able to complete something in timely manner. The developer needs to consider/remember folks who are playing this game have to pay apple to play this game and its not always as simple as logging into their "online" community to find someone and play!
This game rewards delayed gratification. You will not be able to “finish” the main quest in one day, week, or month. It is designed to be played every day, from 5 minutes to hours a day, depending on how you want to play. That to say this: the premise (making friends!) is a nice reprieve from the stress of the day. If you stick with it, you’ll be gardening, fishing, playing mini games, and wondering if you found the last gudetama…highly recommended.
Hi,I want to write a longer review - altho I will preface and say that I do love this Hello Kitty Island Adventure Game - and echoing the other sentiments - it DOES surpass so much expectations of what I thought it was going to be. I also have kind of an issue with the idea of "Gift Giving" so much b/c it's a Codependent thing.. but that I will get into another time. However, I have been playing this for less than a week - and I cannot for the Life of me, find the 3rd Power Crystals -- Red Crystals for Mount Hothead NOR the Blue/Cyan Crystals for Rainbow Reef?? Admittedly I had to Do the CHEATS so I can try to find them better- but they were NOT in any of the Posted Locations? Otherwise I'm doing the Tasks the Characters ask of me - but I cannot Advance to the next (Valley) other Levels? Help? Thank you very much. Btw, posting this as a Mid-40s, (Engaged) Woman, MacUser, who hardly plays Video Games - I would buy this if it was in a Box. Thank you.
so its a great game and its very detailed and i love all the quests amd the mysteries but i have one problem that is kinda my fault. So i was playing the game and keroppi asked me to invite another player and i accidently pressed okay and now he just kinda sits at the plaza waiting, another thing is whenever i try to talk to hiim he explains how to invite someone. i would invite someone but none of my friends have apple arcade so..i feel like they should add a dialog choice button that says "nevermind i dont want to invite a friend" (i dont wanna restart 🥲) so
So fun, I’ve been playing for 2 years now! The more you play, the more fun it gets because you unlock new characters, quests, etc! This game is the only reason I pay for an Apple Arcade subscription. You can make your own character, and as a huge fan of Sanrio (Hello Kitty and Friends), it’s so fun to pretend you’re your own Sanrio character! I love creating my own Sanrio character, and the quests and characters this game comes with.
Love the game, has a solid storyline and good pacing. Adorable characters, and the character creation is super cute(hoping for a little more diversity in the animal options in the future). The one major hang up I have is strawberry crates. They are too rare for the amount needed for each cabin and upgrading them. Alongside the rarity of resources, since they are necessary in order to purchase decorations from My Melody.Absolutely 5 ⭐️ potential, looking forward to future updates and events
I haven't even finished the game and I'm so happy with the size of the island the things to do there and how forgiving the gameplay is. This is such a calming game and also a bit challenging. It has a vast map and has so much to do! Absolutley love this gem of a game. I'm a 24 year old guy and me and my girlfriend love playing this together and finding new things and then playing multiplayer and gifting each other stuff! thanks for this game!
I am a 50-year old player who isn't much of a gamer and I never liked Hello Kitty but this game is really great: a fairly large world to explore and new events keep popping up. The designs and movements are cute and game mechanics are mostly casual and extremely rewarding. The only thing I don't like is the Multiplayer quest but I cannot take a star away for something that isn't mandatory. A surprise hit!
