  • High Quality, but Very Short Book Summaries

    CrazyPianoLady15

High quality book summaries overall and great variety. My only criticism, is while the super-short 3 key points style does make things quick, it is a little too short for some books that require more than 3 points.

  • Seems like a brilliant idea just ONE thing though

    DUDE what about my PRIVACY

As a student there is no way I could afford this which is sad (but) I understand your a business wanting to not only make unique and beneficial apps (but) you also have bills. Would be great if you had student pricing or once maybe every 3 months you had a flash sale for a day just to bring the app into the lives of people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford or learn from something that really is made to share knowledge. I did see each day you make 1 item free just is unfortunate that the pricing puts apps like this out of the reach of probably 75% of your audience. But again, I understand your a business and capitalism should reward creativity for apps such as this (even if taking into consideration the vast reach you might get by bringing in users who want to support you but have limited funds. 5 stars for the good apps like this provide the world (but) 3 stars because in that world only people with disposable income are able to really take advantage of that. Maybe partner with Apple or other large wealthy companies who buy bulk subscriptions from you and make them available to those populations that aren’t able to afford? Seems a win/win a tax write off for them doing something positive to make sure everyone has access to apps like this.

  • Lovely App But Repetitive

    Cspain11

I love this app so much that I purchased a yearly membership. But there is only one problem with it. Many of the books' insights can be very repetitive. It's as if they keep repeating passages. I contacted support about it, and they stated positively that they do this on purpose to instill the lessons, but they sometimes go too far. Instead of repeating the same passages, try adding new ones. They already quiz you on what you read on a daily basis, so that is a great way to instill the lessons. But that is my main gripe about the app. Repeating passages almost appears to be the easy, lazy way to put together a book. Aside from that, I have learned a lot in a short amount of time, so I guess you could say it is still worthwhile.

Hi Cspain11, thanks for sharing your feedback. I'll be sure to share this with the team. Please feel free to get in touch again if you feel some Hacks are repetitive so I can ask the team to review these titles. Thank you

  • Allllllmost there

    Crypto Hunk

The idea and execution is truly here. Small notes: I basically immediately felt like I was in “Snapchat for knowledge” which is great because they use their news feature in the exact same way however for pop culture news references. Snap doesn’t always show the bar at the top of a content feed so seeing the bar, I noticed, began making me anxious to feel that I needed to read at a certain pace. Maybe have a feature where you can hide the time bars at the top would help? I also JUST downloaded the app so that could already exist but I haven’t been able to look further.Lastly.. I noticed the, get other examples, portions tends to just be the same information repeated. I understand the need to re use content in order to not have too much in the pipeline for content creation but maybe writing a different piece of content there will stand out or rewriting the same idea in a different way will work better? Most people may not notice? But it could be annoying for people like myself. Otherwise this really can be something great!

    Developer Response

Hi Crypto Hunk, thank you so much for taking the time out to send us your feedback and request. Completely understand how a moving bar can cause a rushed feeling. Just wondering if using the pause button helps with being able to read at your own pace? I'll be sure to pass your content feedback onto the team. It would be great to know what Hacks you were reading. Please do get in touch with us via your in-app chat if you have any questions or further feedback. Thank you 🙏

  • You can only summarize so much in 5 minutes with a given format

    saireviewer

It is great that you can get a summary in a few minutes while following a format. But it ends up butchering an entire book or the core messages. I have a read a few classics and when I went through their summaries - I felt it was so diluted and almost like something else with no relevance to the original. Filling the format also does not help. Great effort but the given format got tired too quickly and these summaries the way they are done does not do justice to the original. All the best.

    Developer Response

Hi saireviewer, thanks for sharing your feedback. We aim to share 3 key insights from the original knowledge source. Given our 5-minute Hack format, it's not possible to cover the entire book, course, documentary or podcast. We like to give enough so our users can decide if they would like to dig a little deeper. 🤓

  • Uptime concept could be great, but scope is limited

    WillWigg

The concept of short “life hack” trainings to increase our awareness of new concepts is a good one. The weakness in this app is that it only allows for a progressive mindset. While many of the existing subjects are good ones, they lack a positive perspective on subjects such as: Positive aspects world religions (such Christianity and Islam). The service provided by capitalism and serving others to serve ourselves. In short, this app limits learning to progressive ideas and thoughts. This is unfortunate, but could be corrected quite easily, if the authors of the app chose to do so.Also, the addition of technology (how does AI work) and psychology lessons ( why am I like I am) would greatly add to the value of this app.
