  • Great way to learn a language!

    Steve94070

I saw an ad pop up about this, and was intrigued. I love learning languages, and I’m a regular user of Pimsleur for spoken German and Spanish. I thought this would be a great complement, to improve my reading skills. So I went for it, and just read Zorro in Spanish. I’m sure it’s a beginner-ified version, but it was quite enjoyable, with each word and sentence available for translation to English. It’s a super effective way to read. I’m going to keep it up!

  • this is very helpful

i've been studying at home for years and although it is wonderful that I am learning new vocabulary words here the most important thing is listening to someone speaking the language and my being able to understand a person who is speaking at a moderate to fast tempo. To listen and understand is improving immensely. I'm also getting much better at focusing on context and not each individual word. I love this. I will continue to use this in conjunction with other modes of study.

  • Fun learning

I have tried two other learning programmes - was able to memorize words and phrases, but the moment I would be confronted by a “real” Spanish speaking person, I would become nervous and forget everything I had learned! This seems like a more fun way to try and learn Spanish, and hopefully when I see Peruvian in-law family at Thanksgiving this year, I will be able to say a few words. Doesn’t help the nervousness that the gentleman used to teach Spanish at a high school, but let’s see how I do!

  • So far, it’s great

What I like most about this so far is the Study section because the little video clips are spoken by many different people. That’s so much better than anything else I’ve used (Duolingo, Coffee Break Spanish, many others). I also like that if I get bored with that, I can switch to reading or listening — much more flexible than anything else I’ve used.

  • Putting it all together!

As you attempt to read the sentence you can click on translate to see how the sentence actually reads in English. This is helpful, for example, coat red is red coat. Then to be able to choose the words you want to learn, they say it, then you match then you spell. It’s putting your learning into applicable pieces. I’m not using the app because I have to, I’m enjoying it.

  • Fun way to learn

Something to be said to hear a foreign language from video clips. Seems more natural. The app keeps you engaged. The lessons are short. The reading material really adds more to the learning. You can select a level and length. I suggest trying to go a level higher to push yourself with the reading. Add any unknown words and you can quiz yourself later on them
